Sanders had another rally in Prospect Park in New York yesterday. I appreciate Sanders being in the race because I believe he has made Hillary a better candidate and moved the media focus from All Trump All the time.
Bernie had a large crowd but large crowds do not equal Winning.
in 1984, Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro had a crowd of 100,000 in New York but he only won his home state of Minnesota and the District of Columbia. He was slaughtered.
It is okay to have large rallies and crowds but sometimes the people want you to come to where they are, to be personable, to show you care enough about them to come to them, into their communities, churches, shops, etc. I believe Obama balanced both of these approaches successfully.
Another thing Obama would do is if the crowd started to boo, he would cut them off and say, “Don't boo, Vote! Pure class.
I understand this will be one of the talking points which Sanders campaign will use to convince Super Delegates to switch from Hillary to Bernie. However, I don't think they will be successful, we shall see.
