I don't typically pass along stuff like this, but if ever a YouTube deserved to go viral, it's this one.
Straight-up genius:
The folks who brought you the above also point out that actual libertarian bloggers have argued that Somalia's state of anarchy, lawlessness, and absolute lack of regulation of any kind are actually, well, good things. Somalia, they say, is not an example that libertarianism doesn't work in the real world. It just hasn't been given enough time.
Somalia is in the news again. Rival gangs are shooting each other, and why? The reason is always the same: the prospect that the weak-to-invisible transitional government in Mogadishu will become a real government with actual power.
The media invariably describe this prospect as a "hope." But it's a strange hope that is accompanied by violence and dread throughout the country. Somalia has done very well for itself in the 15 years since its government was eliminated. The future of peace and prosperity there depends in part on keeping one from forming.
You see, there is a strain of stupid so powerful that it cannot be disputed. Logic cannot penetrate its leathery hide. Hopefully it doesn't escape anyone that there's barely a hair's breadth between the blockquote above and the bleatings of the common teabagger.
NOTE: I'm headed off to work and won't be able to check in for about an hour or so, but enjoy, and pass the video along to your libertarian and teabagging friends.
