Let me preface this by explaining that Fox Business contributor Mark Serrano, while being a paid shill for unpopular President Trump, has also done some very important and life-saving work as a child sex abuse survivor and advocate. Serrano came to national attention about 15 years ago, when he very publicly broke the silence of a court-settlement confidentiality agreement with the Catholic Church in order to speak openly about the church’s rampant child abuse. Since that time, he has advocated for child abuse victims and now, unfortunately, he advocates—for a fee—for a man who has been accused of sexually assaulting quite a few women.
Federal disclosure forms filed by the Trump committee Saturday show that it paid Serrano’s firm, ProActive Communications, a total of $30,000 for “communications consulting.” The records indicate that it paid $20,000 on April 17 to the company, based in Leesburg, Va., and another $10,000 on May 30.
TV news organizations, including Fox, typically screen would-be pundits and panelists for any financial connection to campaigns, issues or companies they might be asked to comment about on the air. Insiders, such as a campaign official or party strategist, are often welcomed, but only if their professional role is disclosed to viewers upfront.
According the the Washington Post, a Fox Business source says that Serrano hadn’t disclosed this to the network and they would not be having him on in the near future (chugs salt). As NPR shows, Serrano’s support of Trump uses the 180 degree projection that unpopular President Trump is probably best known for these days.
Serrano posted clips of some Fox appearances on his personal website. "The only collusion going on in Washington is between ... the media and the Democrats," he said on May 19. A week earlier, he told anchor Neil Cavuto, "The president turns to Twitter for a very good reason. You know, it's because he knows that the American people don't believe this fake news story about Russian collusion."
You can watch Serrano explaining how Democrats are the swamp and unpopular President Donald Trump hiring the entire swamp and a few swamps extra into the White House isn’t a problem, below.
