Brett Kavanaugh lied under oath. There is no other way to spin this. He described himself and his friends as “obnoxious drunks” and “prolific pukers” in a 1983 letter.
In a 1983 letter, a copy of which was reviewed by The New York Times, the young Judge Kavanaugh warned his friends of the danger of eviction from an Ocean City, Md., condo. In a neatly written postscript, he added: Whoever arrived first at the condo should “warn the neighbors that we’re loud, obnoxious drunks with prolific pukers among us. Advise them to go about 30 miles...”
Many of his Kavanaugh’s former classmates have since confirmed he was a heavy drinker. Remember, Kavanaugh said he wasn’t a heavy drinker under oath, and he was repeatedly asked that question.
One night during his senior year, according to classmates who witnessed it, Judge Kavanaugh triumphantly hoisted an empty beer keg above his head, in recognition that he and his friends were well on their way to reaching their goal of polishing off 100 kegs during the academic year — an achievement they later boasted about in their yearbook.
Four Georgetown Prep classmates said they saw Judge Kavanaugh and his friends partake in binge-drinking rituals many weekends in which other partygoers saw them inebriated, even having difficulty standing. Three of those classmates signed a July letter, along with more than 150 other alumni, that endorsed him for the Supreme Court.
Kavanaugh, under oath, belligerently told Sen. Amy Klobuchar he was not a heavy drinker. This not only exposed his lack of judicial temperament—but also exposed that Kavanaugh, a sitting judge, has no problem lying under oath.
Klobuchar: “I have no drinking problem.”
Kavanaugh: “Nor do I.”
It’s clear that Kavanaugh has been lying about his blackout drinking problem. Why this isn’t already clear to Jeff Flake, Lisa Murkowski, and Susan Collins tells you that the Republican Party is infested with moral corruption. This shouldn’t be a difficult decision here. Kavanaugh has clearly lied. Dr. Ford was clearly credible.
Trump viciously mocked Dr. Ford Tuesday night. These three Senators mock Dr. Ford with their inaction. I’m sick of the bullshit from these three. They are all cut from the same cloth. The moral corruption in the GOP is breathtaking.
