Former Infowars Washington bureau chief and longtime Roger Stone associate Jerome Corsi is trying to make a plea deal with special counsel Robert Mueller … but he thinks he might just get indicted instead. Corsi spent two months cooperating with the investigation into Stone’s contacts with Wikileaks, the Associated Press reports:
But he said talks with investigators recently had “blown up.”
“I fully anticipate that in the next few days, I will be indicted by Mueller,” he said last week, as he made a pitch for donations to his legal defense fund.
“Stone has said that Corsi also has a relationship with Trump, built on their shared interest in the falsehood that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States,” the Washington Post reports.
It’s amazing the number of longtime terrible Republican sleazebags getting wrapped up in this investigation. It really gives a sense of how long Republicans have been moving toward outright criminality as their basic mode of operating.
