This can’t all be the result of my hiding my mom’s TV remote over Christmas, but I’m sure that made a huge dent.*
From The Hill:
MSNBC beat out Fox News last week in key ratings for first time in 17 years, topping its competitor in total viewers for the first time since 2000, according to a news release from MSNBC.
MSNBC averaged 1.56 million total viewers during the "sales day" (6 a.m. to 2 a.m.) between Dec. 17-21, making it the top cable news network in the key 25-54 age demographic.
Fox News averaged 1.54 million total viewers while CNN averaged 975,000.
The numbers indicate that MSNBC may be on track to beat out Fox for the month of December, as well. Meanwhile, Rachel Maddow topped Sean Hannity for the week — though, admittedly, Hannity was on vacation from lying about Donald Trump so he could focus on lying about how many people wanted to see the giant swath of doggy daycare lint roller paper he calls a body in a swimsuit.
Regardless, this is good news for the country. We’re edging in the right direction, and at this rate we won’t even have to use the parental controls on our parents’ cable boxes to keep them from watching Fox. The nation’s left-leaning demographics will just continue to overwhelm the network.
*I kid, I kid.
