I’m sorry but this is some flat out what-aboutism bullshit right here.
Yeah, ok, so apparently Trump has decided yet again that he can’t criticize some more White Supremacy but instead is going to point the finger at someone else. Here’s the thing — just like nearly every other claim that Trump makes — he’s yet again full of shit.
Since her statements got her fired Roseanne herself has not exactly been a stellar example of humility.
Rosanne Barr apologizes for her tweet with a “bad joke about Valerie Jarret’s policies and looks” — when it really said that she was a cross between the “Muslim Brotherhood and an Ape.” ABC fires her and cancels her hit show. in 2013 Rosanne had also tweeted that Susan Rice “was a man with giant swinging Ape balls.” She had dressed as a Nazi with a Hitler mustache and baked “Jew” cookies in her oven. She’s been a 9-11 Truther, A Vaxxer, a Birther and a great big Trump supporter.
Valerie Jarrett responds to Rosanne and says this is a potential “teaching moment" where everyday racism that affects the average person can be addressed.
Rosanne’s pro-Trump son doubles down on her racist crap saying that it’s all “political correctness” because the only person you can say looks like an ape is Ron Perlman, “because he’s white.” Shortly after his mother issued her since-deleted tweet, Pentland joked that she “will probably Be called racist and fired for this cuz libtards think Muslims are a race but omg is it funny and true hahahahahaha.” Barr made a similar post about Islam not being a race, ignoring the fact that she invoked a racist trope with a long history when comparing Jarrett to an ape.
Rosanne blames her racist tweet attacking Valerie Jarrett on Ambien. Ambien’s makers respond and say that “racism isn’t one of their side-effects”, and still it doesn’t explain the “Jew” cookies, the 9-11 Trutherism or her support for Trump. Then she retweets others that say she wasn’t fired because of the Tweet, but because she supports Trump. [So does ABC — haven’t you ever watched the news, it’s all about Trump? And also that’s why the hired you in the first place]
Whoopi Goldberg slams Rosanne — but not for the Jarret tweet — she hits her for retweeting a faked photoshopped picture of Goldberg wearing a rude anti-Trump shirt during the women’s march, and trying to use it to deflect from why she got fired by ABC. “Don’t drag other people into your crap.”
So there was all that.
Now at first no one really understood what “HORRIBLE” statements Trump was talking about. But then during today’s press conference Huckabee-Sanders doubled down on the attacks on ABC and Liberals who they say are too mean to Trump.
Relevant portion begins at 6:27.
During Wednesday’s White House briefing, Sanders was asked why Trump made the firing about himself instead of condemning Barr’s remarks comparing a black former White House staffer to an “ape.”
“The president is pointing out the media bias,” Sanders said. “The president is the president of all Americans.”
Sanders then launched into a rant, naming liberal personalities who she claimed were given preferential treatment by the media.
“He’s simply pointing out the bias, the president is pointing to the hypocrisy,” she insisted. “People say the most horrible things about this president and nobody addresses it.”
According to Sanders, Disney CEO Bob Iger owed Trump an apology after ESPN contributor Jemele Hill insulted him.
Sanders said that “Christians around the world” were also owed apology from ABC host Joy Behar, who once called religion a “mental illness.”
“Where was the apology when Kathy Griffin went going on a profane rant on The View after a photo showed her holding the president’s decapitated head?” Sanders demanded to know. “Where was the apology from Bob Iger for ESPN hiring Keith Olbermann after his numerous expletive-laced tweets referring to the president as a Nazi, and even expanding Olbermann’s role.”
“This is a double standard that the president is speaking about,” the press secretary concluded.
Please note the Sanders was reading from a prepared statement here, she didn’t come of up with these examples on her own. Most likely, her communications staff, which still includes Kelly Sadler who claimed John McCain “would be dead soon” and had promised a public apology to Meghan McCain but hasn’t provided it yet, scoured the net to find these examples of other people with connection to ABC — who happen to all be Liberals — who said bad stuff about Trump so he can proclaim that ABC punished and apologized for Rosanne only because she’s a Trump supporter.
First of all Kathy Griffin was fired by CNN after her failed “Blood Coming Out of His Whatever” photoshoot failed miserably. At the time she owned it honestly, and apologized profusely. Then later she took that apology back. Why? because “Shit Hole Countries!” for one thing. And frankly if you don’t know to expect Kathy Griffin to drop an occasional F-bomb, you are simply not paying attention — that’s half her act.
Kathy explains that we’re talking about an $5 Halloween mask and some ketchup contrasted to the eight years of photos with Obama being lynched and no one said a thing, people were going to Trump rallies with Hillary’s Head, that after that she had to spend two hours explaining to her own mother — who watches Fox News incessantly — that she wasn’t suddenly a member of ISIS. She felt bad because she thought Daniel Pearl’s mother might have seen the picture, but then her expletives weren’t directed at Trump. She basically said “Fuck Them” to Eric and Don Jr. who she called “Eddie Munster and Date Rape.”
She said that after her joke image was posted she got a call from the Department of Justice and was under a two month investigation for Conspiracy to Assassinate the President. After which she again said “Fuck!” to applause by the audience. She them talks about how TMZ’s Harvey Levin — who is a Trump friend — would come after her for cancelled shows after Robocall bomb threats were being made to the theaters. She also points out that her mom and her sister received death threats, and there were threats against Kathy herself that they wanted cut off her head, shove it up her twat and then shoot her. This investigation was going on while she was on an international tour and that put her on the Interpol List and was detained at every single air port.
Ana Navarro points out that she didn’t like it when someone at Univision compared Michelle Obama to an ape and lost his job (Hm, foreshadowing?) but she does say she’s glad that Kathy is putting all that behind her and not letting herself be defined by that one moment.
Then there’s the bit with Joy Behar — who actually didn’t say that “Christians are Crazy” she said that people who hear voices and think they’re hearing Jesus just might be mentally ill — in response to Omarosa’s comments about Pence on Celebrity Big Brother.
“He’s extreme,” Manigault Newman said to her fellow contestants about Pence, who has ties to the evangelical community. “I’m Christian. I love Jesus. But he thinks Jesus tells him to say things. I’m like, ‘Jesus ain’t saying that.’ ”
That prompted the women of “The View” on Feb. 13 to critique Pence’s faith. Co-host Sunny Hostin said, “I don’t know that I want my vice president, um — speaking in tongues and having Jesus speak to him.”
Behar responded: “It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct, hearing voices.”
I’m gonna leave Keith Olberman alone. He’s a hero, what he said while he wasn’t working for ESPN is nothing that they need to apologize to anyone for. But he’s still a hero.
Jemele Hill apologized for what she said to ESPN about Trump being a White Supremacist and also she was suspended for having said it and she herself said she “Deserved that suspension.”
In an impromptu airport interview with TMZ Sports, Jemele Hill said that she “deserved a suspension” after putting ESPN “in a bad spot” with her social media behavior, and respects ESPN’s prerogative to do “what they felt was right” in hitting her with a two-week suspension for a series of Donald Trump-related tweets:
Here’s the thing: Jemele didn’t apologize to Trump himself because she’s not wrong. Trump is a White Supremacist, even if he chooses to keep his White sheet folded in the back of closet. If someone including the WH staff and his supporters continue to openly support his obvious White Supremacism, then yeah they're White Supremacist too. He hasn’t apologized for “Mexicans are Rapists”, he hasn’t apologized for “MS-13 are Animals”, he hasn’t apologized to Judge Curiel for saying he can’t do his job because “i’m building a wall”, he hasn’t apologized to Gold Star Father Khazir Khan for claiming he was in league with ISIS, or to his wife for saying she “didn’t talk because of her Muslim culture”, hasn’t apologized for saying that Nancy Pelosi “protects MS-13”, or that hundreds of Muslims cheered when the Towers fell on 9/11, he’s hasn’t apologized for “Shit Hole Countries” statement or for his ban of multiple majority Muslim nations even though there have been NO SUCCESSFUL TERRORIST ATTACKS on the U .S. from immigrants or refugees who come from those countries or for still claiming Obama was a "Kenyan" well after he'd already released his oh-so-important long form birth certificate in 2011, or to Heidi Cruz, Carly Fiorina, Meghan Kelly and John McCain for saying “he’s not a war hero.”
Not to mention the fact his father was arrested at a KKK Rally and his dad refused to rent to blacks, Trump himself was sued for racial housing discrimination twice, he didn’t like black people touching his money, his casino managers would hide the black employees when he showed up because he didn’t like seeing them, he viciously attacked the Central Park Five even though they were juveniles and after DNA proved they were innocent, he hand picked the finalists in his Miss Universe pageants and generally excluded women of color, he’s retweeted White Supremacists memes that falsely claim that 81% of White people killed are the victims of Black violence, he claimed that Antifa was just as responsible for the violence at Charlottesville as the Alt-Right even though they had planned for violence in advance, he’s advocated police brutality against suspects and said that “Sons of Bitches” who protest this kind of brutality and murder “should be fired”, posted more White Supremacist memes of Hillary Clinton linked to corruption and the Star of David, repeatedly called Sen. Elizabeth Warren “Pochahontas” for claiming she has a small slice of Native American Heritage when he and his dad both pretended for years that they were Swedish instead of German so they could sell condos to Jews, he believes in Eugenics, and has continued to claim “immigrants bring crime” when every data point and statistic says that they don’t.
Even someone as relatively gentile as David Cay Johnston is now saying that “Trump is a flat-out Racist.”
Award-winning journalist David Cay Johnston sees through Donald Trump’s pledge to “Make America Great Again.”
“It’s make America white again,” he said on the Dean Obeidallah show Wednesday.
He claimed to have witnessed Trump discriminate against black, women, Asians and Puerto Ricans over the years.
“The President of the United States is a flat-out racist,” Johnston declared.
Yeah. And what’s worse is that it’s very clear that Trump’s own racism is like a virus that enables, rationalizes and justifies the racism and hatred of others.
He’s racism’s Typhoid Mary.
Joy Behar, Kathy Griffin and Jemele Hill already apologized publicly, Kathy was fired by CNN, Jemele was suspended by ESPN, and Keith hasn’t attacked Trump while he was on ESPN’s payroll — none of them were the primary star of a top rated ABC show while already having a long history of racist conspiracy theory tweets, but Trump still thinks Bob Iger should apologize to him personally?
Let me quote Kathy Griffin — Fuck That.
One last thing about Roseanne, she actually may be being judged a little too harshly here because in this interview with her ex-Husband Tom Arnold he talks about how she used to be a progressive, far more progressive than he was when they first met and that she even then was dealing with her own mental health issues just as he was, and still is. I mean, he’s clearly a hot mess in this interview, but he makes the case that in many ways she’s acting out with her behavior and she probably needs some sort of intervention.
I suspect he might not be wrong, and that she’s a long way from the only one.
Roseanne has now said “she’s not Racist” — and although I’m willing to give her a tiny bit a slack for being affected by mental health issues, I’m not willing to go that far.
Nope. sorry but you can’t make that particular stupid joke — which wasn’t even in same quantum dimension as humor — not to mention all her other obvious racist crap, and not be racist.
That’s not possible.
Mentally unstable? Maybe, possibly. Racist? Definitely. No question.
I mean Donald Sterling claimed he wasn’t racist either. So did Cliven Bundy, Phil Roberson, Paula Deen and even David Duke says “he’s not racist.”
And Donald Trump even with all the above continues to claim he’s the “least racist person” you’ll ever meet, or interview or see on TV or whatever.
So I’m thinking when we hear all of these people who’ve bean repeatedly caught saying and doing all the obviously racist shit these people have done but still claim they “aren’t racist” we really can’t afford to take their word for it anymore.
Clearly their judgement is compromised. Or they’re lying. Or both.

Trump keeps at it:
While The View responds to Trump’s apology demand: He’s doesn’t deserve one until he himself apologizes for all the people he’s attacked.
Reacting to Trump’s tweet attacking ABC for having news and entertainment personalities who criticize him, co-host Sunny Hostin explained why no one owes the president anything resembling an apology.
“If he’s looking for an apology, I’d like him to apologize for what he’s said about Haiti,” she said. “I’d like for him to apologize for him calling Haiti a s-hole country — that is the country of origin of my husband and my children. I’d like him to apologize for the lackluster, despicable response for Puerto Rico that led to the deaths of over 4,500 people… I want those apologies, and I think until he leads by example, he doesn’t deserve apologies.”
Meghan McCain, who typically defends Republicans and conservatives on the show, couldn’t help but agree with Hostin that Trump isn’t owed any apologies. However, she added that the president’s bad behavior isn’t an excuse for everyone to behave as he does.
“This is an administration that’s not capable of apologizing on their end,” she said. “We should all try to be the example that they are not giving us, and don’t get gaslit into taking your eyes off what’s really important.”
Joy Behar I think hit’s it on the head, “He doesn’t seem to know the difference between criticism and racism.”
Yep, that would be it right there.
