Hey all, What a weekend huh? Friday saw some massive blows tot he Trump Administration, both the indictment of Roger Stone, and Trump blinking on the shut down fight and reopening the Government for three weeks without his wall money.
Of course the battle’s far from over. We all thought Trump was down for the count in 2016 during the election, but things are looking well at the moment, lets keep up the pressure and make Trump sorry he ever thought to try and run for President.
But that can wait until later. For now, Good news!
The president’s defeat ought to be embarrassing for him, but if we know one thing about Mr Trump it is that embarrassment is not something he experiences – and his supporters will probably believe that he has won a famous victory.
Mr Trump remains a formidable candidate to beat in the 2020 election. But Ms Pelosi has shown that, with strong leadership, resolute on national security, he can be beaten.
I would say that its obvious that Trump could be beaten, but I do know a lot of the doom and gloom set seem to have their doubts, so its nice this has been flat out stated.
A federal grand jury has indicted Roger Stone for obstructing the federal investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, making false statements to the federal government, and witness tampering. The details of Stone’s allegedly illegal activities laid out in the indictment implicate the Trump campaign, and perhaps President Donald Trump, in illegally soliciting a campaign contribution from a foreign national—namely, hacked emails damaging to Hillary Clinton, which were in the possession of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and originated with Russian military intelligence hackers.
Once again, another Trump Campaign member is in custody. The Noose is tightening Donny, better flee to Russia while you have the chance.
Senate Republicans on Sunday described the freshly ended 35-day partial government shutdown as an ineffective and harmful tactic deployed to secure funding for President Trump's proposed wall along the southern border.
Fresh off a Friday vote to reopen the government for three weeks, lawmakers described the shutdown as an exercise in futility that harmed Americans, and expressed optimism lawmakers could hammer out a legislative compromise in the next three weeks.
"Shutdowns are never good policy, ever," Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said on CBS's "Face the Nation." "They are never to be used as a means to achieve any kind of goal no matter how important that goal may seem to be."
Yeah, even Trumps GOP tactics know that the shutdown was a dumb idea. Trump may try it again, but I doubt it will go any better for him next time.
President Trump triggered a range of responses from his conservative media supporters Friday for abandoning his latest demand that Congress approve funding for a wall to be built on the Mexican border.
Several prominent right-wing media personalities, pundits and websites panned the president for reaching a short-term deal to reopen the federal government without securing the $5.7 billion in funding he sought for his proposed border wall – a contentious request at the center of the unprecedented 35-day partial shutdown ended by the agreement.
“Good news for George Herbert Walker Bush: As of today, he is no longer the biggest wimp ever to serve as President of the United States,” columnist Ann Coulter wrote on Twitter.
Last week we saw Ms. Coulter comparing Donald “Henpecked” Trump to Jeb Bush, now to the late President Bush. (Honestly I’m surprised Coulter didn’t really twist the knife and compare him to Bill Clinton, but whatever). Point is, the Conservative media is beginning to turn on Trump for backing down to Pelosi, and his base wont be far behind.
With steely resolve, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi stood respectfully and strong in the wrestling match between herself and President Trump, formally disinviting him from making his State of the Union address in the House until the government was back up and running. Trump, not known as one to acquiesce easily or without a public fight, particularly if it afforded him a chance to pummel Pelosi, eventually cried “uncle.” He acknowledged that the disinvite was Pelosi’s to make.
The hero of the hour, the current heavyweight champion of Capitol Hill, Nancy Pelosi ladies and gentlemen. The woman who slew the Trump dragon and claimed the Iron throne. And lets not forget it was us and the Blue wave that gave her the power she now has to put Trump in the place. Keep it up Speaker Pelosi, we’re rooting for you.
