The Wall Street Journal is reporting the kind of thing that used to be a bombshell story before Jiminy Scandals came along.
Apparently, U.S. ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland told House investigators during his testimony last week that the pressure Trump placed on Ukraine over investigations he wanted “amounted to a quid pro quo.”
Via Axios:
What they're saying: Per the Journal, Sondland’s attorney Robert Luskin said his client "told House committees that he believed Ukraine agreeing to open investigations into Burisma ... and into alleged 2016 election interference was a condition for a White House meeting between Mr. Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky."
"Asked by a lawmaker whether that arrangement was a quid pro quo, Mr. Sondland cautioned that he wasn’t a lawyer but said he believed the answer was yes, Mr. Luskin said." — Wall Street Journal
