In 2007, no one really thought a Freshman Senator from Illinois named Barack Obama could win Iowa. But he and his team rolled up their sleeves and went to work. That team included Kamala Harris.
Who Could Win Iowa? Pretty Much Anyone.
…..If history tells us anything, it’s to expect the unexpected in the first contest of the 2020 race.
there’s a long history of dramatic late movement in Iowa and a consensus among pollsters that surveys for the caucuses are unusually challenging. So much so that the real surprise would be if things stayed stable until the end. After all, it’s not just the four current polling leaders who could wind up doing well. Harris wouldn’t be the first candidate to surge, collapse and then fully recover. Senator Amy Klobuchar is on something of a minor upswing; no one knows how many voters might jump to her if she moves up enough to look like one of the leaders. The same goes for Senator Cory Booker, who hasn’t had any recent polling success, but (like Klobuchar) has enough support from party actors that if he somehow starts moving he could attract serious resources, which would boost his polling, which would attract more resources, and so on…..
Kamala does just that, and then things like this happen —
The Liberty and Justice Celebration 2019 — the premier event of the Iowa Caucus Season
Friday, Nov 1: Team Kamala at the Liberty and Justice Celebration (Formerly: JJ Dinner)
Intersection of 4th Street and Park Street
Des Moines, IA 50309
Join Team Kamala for Iowa for a block party right by the Wells Fargo Arena before the Liberty and Justice Celebration (formerly the JJ Dinner).
And they did!
October 31st —
Kamala, Doug, and volunteers from around the country gathered in Des Moines to prepare for L&J19.
I love all the volunteers but this young man is a personal favorite. From one Mainer to another, Salute~!
I do love our Mainers, but from Hawaii?! There’s something happening!
Of course Kamala brought food.
November 1st — and it’s on for Liberty and Justice 2019
And the people gathered —
And then Senator Kamala Harris took the stage —
So do we —

Work your thing out
Work your thing out
Work your thing out
Work your thing out
There's so many-a girls
I hear you been running
From the beautiful queen
That you could be becoming
You can look at my palm
And see the storm coming
Read the book of my life
And see I've overcome it
Just because the length of your hair ain't long
And they often criticize you for your skin tone
Wanna hold your head high
Cause you're a pretty woman
Get your runway stride home
And keep going
Girl live ya life
I just wanna be myself
Don't sweat girl be yourself
Follow me
Follow me
Follow me
Girl be yourself
That's why I be myself
And I'm gonna love it
Let em get mad
They gonna hate anyway
Don't you get that?
Doesn't matter if you're going on with their plan
They'll never be happy
Cause they're…
