Per Politico — House Armed Services Committee Chair Adam Smith (D-WA) told Joy Reid on MSNBC yesterday that it was “quite likely, without question,” that Devin Nunes (R-CA), top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee will undergo an ethics investigation.
This is after one of Rudy Giuliani’s two indicted thug-buddies, Lev Parnas, told CNN that Nunes, who has been trying nonstop to disrupt the impeachment hearings with the GOP party-line conspiracy theory, is actually part of the real plot that the impeachment is all about and he is doing his best to cover up. Seems Nunes met more than once with Victor Shokin, the crooked Ukrainian prosecutor Joe Biden and other Western leaders helped oust for covering up corruption, to get dirt on, hey, what a coincidence — Joe Biden.
This will be the second ethics investigation on Nunes, but the first real one, as his GOP cronies controlling the House Ethics Committee whitewashed his sharing classified info on the Russia investigation with the White House in 2017. Due to the wisdom of American voters in the 2018 midterms, the Ethics Committee now has some ethics. With any luck this investigation will lead to indictment, resignation and jail time for the cow-suing toady and traitor.
Giuliani, naturally, had something to say. “"Poor Lev. I don't know what he's doing to himself. I feel sorry for him."
Let me explain what he’s doing, Rudy, since you can’t face it: flipping on his mob boss to get a lighter sentence. Same thing you’re going to do to your mob boss when it’s your turn.

A number of commenters have said that I’m going way too far out predicting jail time for Nunes. Fair enough, ICBW.* And IANAL.**
I think that is likely true if investigations on him are limited to “a mere fact-finding trip” as commenters have put it. However it could depend on what facts were being sought and for what purpose, and we know: 1) dirt on Joe Biden; 2) election tampering. Conspiracy, perhaps. If communications show that he was involved in the extortion of Zelenskyy — extortion and conspiracy to extort, and obstruction of justice for all his work to cover it up.
However if the investigation is widened, I can conceive of many more counts of obstruction of justice, possible breaches of intelligence in addition to the one that was covered up by the GOP-run House Ethics Committee, and lying to investigators if he was questioned in, say, the Mueller investigation.
Sadly, you guys might be right, however, in that he might receive Straight White Right-Wing Male JusticeTM either through lax charging and sentencing, or a presidential pardon.
Update to the update: from MatthewFord’s diary on Nunes’ depredations:
Former federal prosecutor Elie Honig noted in a CNN interview Saturday that Nunes may have done exactly what Trump is being accused of: using his office to solicit something of value (dirt on Biden) from a foreign national — a “corrupt prosecutor” — to use in a political campaign.

WaPo adds this detail:
Bondy also said that a top aide to Nunes, Derek Harvey, sometimes joined a group that met frequently in spring 2019 at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., to discuss the Biden matter, among other topics. The group, according to Bondy, was convened by Giuliani, Trump’s personal attorney, and included Parnas, his business associate Igor Fruman, as well as journalist John Solomon and the husband-and-wife legal team of Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing.
