During a morning of lurid testimony, the president’s once-loyal lawyer and fixer gave an accounting under oath of his years of service to Mr. Trump. He recalled shady business deals and racist comments, and spoke in devastating, uncomfortable detail about his private conversations with the man he had idolized. He was Mr. Trump’s enforcer, a role he once seemed to relish.
In today’s testimony, Cohen has described Trump as a racist, which comes as no surprise and has detailed some of Trump's illegal dealings including
being instructed by Trump to lie about hush money payments which he claims to have receipts for. But it's Cohen's warning to Republicans in Congress and Republican voters, those that are protecting him, that is most horrifying:
"When Trump said he can shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and get away with it, he's not joking, he's telling you the truth. You don't know him, I do."
Trump has told us who he is. Republican politicians should believe him. And stop protecting him.
