This morning, Donald Trump—the common thread in numerous criminal investigations—used Twitter to unleash a heap of steaming hot garbage, primarily complaining about Democrats using their investigative powers to do what Republicans refused to do—act as a check on an out-of-control, potentially criminal White House. I’ll skip most of the conspiracy ranting, but here’s a sample.
A few hours later, Nancy Pelosi addressed the media on Capitol Hill. She was wearing the same lapel pin she wore during the State of the Union earlier in the week. The pin appears to be a replica of the Mace of the Republic, a symbol of law and order and the restoration of order. (Read more about the symbolism here.) With such significant symbolism front and center, Pelosi fielded a question about Trump’s claims of “unlimited presidential harassment” and once again, she nailed the response, using the P-word—P-R-O-J-E-C-T-I-O-N.
That wasn’t the only punch Pelosi landed during the press conference. She relayed the story of some words of wisdom a hotel kitchen employee shared with her during an event on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in San Francisco this year.
We rate that a 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥burn.
Restoring order, indeed. Back to work!
