As usual, Democrats are not framing the issue correctly as it relates to the Trump administration.
With all of the analysis of what we know about the Mueller investigation so far (hint...the American public still doesn’t know all the details, only what Trump’s hand-picked Attorney General has said), there is one thing that everyone, including Democrats, seem to be overlooking:
This administration has had more criminal charges and convictions in such a short period of time...barely more than two years...than any administration in American history.
Read that again and let it sink in.
No other administration had this many criminal convictions in its first two years of office. Even Watergate and Teapot Dome, two of the biggest scandals in American history, didn’t have the number of criminal indictments and convictions as Trump at this point in his administration. No other administration had six people directly connected to the president charged and convicted this early. And that doesn’t even include all of those Russians indicted as part of a conspiracy flip the election to Trump. And there are still investigations ongoing, not to mention new scandals arising with greater frequency than any other administration in history.
So, why aren’t Democrats referring to this administration as the most corrupt in American history? It already is, with or without any further action (even though it’s very possible that more criminal charges could well be made).
Why are we not emphasizing that five associates of the president’s administration and campaign have already been convicted? And that Russian interference in the 2016 election is no longer a suspicion, but a proven fact?
Add to that all of the blatant ethical violations and this is truly the most corrupt administration in American history.
Administration and campaign officials already convicted of criminal activity include: Paul J. Manafort (former Trump campaign manager), George Papadopolous (former campaign foreign policy adviser), Rick Gates (former deputy campaign chairman) and Michael T. Flynn (former national security adviser). In addition, longtime Trump associate Roger Stone has also been indicted on multiple charges and is pending trial.
A host of administration officials have violated ethics rules and misspent taxpayer dollars, including: former Trump EPA Administrator Scott Pruit, HUD Secretary Ben Carson, former Veterans’ Affairs Secretary David J. Shulkin, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, former HHS Secretary Tom Price and others.

As usual...too many Democrats are simply rolling over and letting Republicans...including the Republican-owned mainstream national news media... have their way when it comes to messaging.
