Remember that GoFundMe page to raise money to build Trump his wall?
Well, this just got interesting:
Brian Kolfage is supposed to be helping Donald Trump build a wall with the 22 million raised. No construction has begun, even after multiple promises to break ground. However, Brian does have a nice, new yacht and is booking private air flights. He denies that he’s using the money for the wall to buy these luxuries, but the question remains: Where is the money going, then?
Who is Brian Kolfage? He’s an amputee war veteran with a loyal following who really loves Trump. If there was ever a king of “fake news,” Brian would have been it. He administered multiple conservative pages on Facebook, and they were, to put it delicately, sleazy.
A former employee, who requested anonymity, spoke to BuzzFeed News about working for him. She said, “He never wanted the truth. It was all just for clicks, and the more inflammatory, the better… I felt dirty writing the stuff.”
Facebook finally took action and removed hundreds of pages and accounts from their platform for “coordinated inauthentic behavior” and “spamming.”
According to The Stern Facts, an anonymous source said that Kolfage confided that he went “broke.”
If that truly was the case, then don’t worry. He seems to be doing much better these days.
Brian Kolfage lashed back at The Stern Report with this post:
piss poor reporting. The boat was ordered in 2017, manufacturing began in 2018 and boat delivered in August of 2018. It’s all document on my instagram with time stamps, dates and images. Hope you like being sued, because I’m going to buy a bigger boat after my attorney owns you.
go ahead and look at my instagram www.Instagram.com/Brian_kolfage scroll down to 2018 you scumbag
The anonymous source shot back:
Whether he ordered it last year with the year before is irrelevant it’s still nearly a million dollar boat. Those new toys are very expensive as is flying private. Where did he get the money if his business was destroyed by Facebook?
Some donors are questioning what he’s done with all that money he raised and wondered why he hasn’t given any updates on progress. Turns out, there’s a good reason: Those darn lefties will go after him if we knew of his super cool plans.
I tend to give a lot of leeway to war veterans, but in this case, Kolfage has given a lot of reason to question his integrity. A journalist uncovered that he allegedly has a significant history with Crowdfunding scams. There’s plenty of them to read through, but the most egregious one, in my opinion, was a fundraiser for a “Mentoring Program” for wounded service member at several prominent hospitals. The hospitals mentioned provided statements to BuzzFeed that they had no record of Kolfage ever volunteering or donating money.
Kolfage isn’t alone. Fleecing Trump supporters seems to be something of a sport these days.
Trump’s former deputy campaign manager, David Bossie, organized an alleged sham political organization that raised millions in small donor donations to support Trump-aligned candidates. However, almost all of its money was spent on more fundraising and administrative costs, to include Bossie’s hefty salary.
Trump was reportedly very furious—not because his followers got swindled, but because the guy was making money off of Trump’s brand without Trump in the picture.
The scams run on conservatives are nothing new. Conservative pundit Erick Erickson has decried them for years. The Campaign Legal Center notes that there is an entire cottage industry of PAC operators, fundraisers, and consultants who prey on the passion and ignorance of conservatives.
According to Max Boot, you can trace the swindling back to 1996, when Rupert Murdoch decided to capitalize on right-wing outrage by launching Fox News.
To be fair, liberals are targets of grifters as well, but the con game is much more effective on those who eschew reason, regarding any attempts at reaching them as “fake news,” and will forever rationalize their poor decisions.
A prominent Twitter user said his MAGA neighbor donated to the GoFundMe wall, refused to believe that Kolfage had a yacht, and even after seeing proof said: “Well, he deserves a yacht.”
How do you argue with someone like that?
Screw ‘em.
I prefer Trump supporters and cowed conservatives line the pockets of people like Brian as opposed to donating to actual candidates who are intent on destroying our country and her people. For that, I thank him.
So when people say they want to build the wall, I tell them to donate to Brian’s GoFundMe page, which is still up. I say put up or shut up.
Convincing low-income people to give their hard-earned money to a guy with a yacht… Terrible.
What do you think?
