It’s almost as if Donald Trump isn’t taking the Russian attacks on our country the least bit seriously. Of course, if Russia suddenly decided to intervene on the Democrats’ behalf, you can pretty much bet Trump would send the U.S. Navy Sixth Fleet to Moscow before eventually realizing it’s not a port city.
After speaking on the phone with Putin on Friday, Trump recounted his conversation with the murderous dictator, saying the two discussed the issue of Russian interference in the 2016 election: “We discussed it. He actually sort of smiled [he smiled? and Trump knew this how?] when he said something to the effect that it started off as a mountain and it ended up being a mouse. But he knew that, because he knew there was no collusion whatsoever.”
Uh, the Mueller report concluded that Russia had intervened in our election “in sweeping and systematic fashion.” That’s not really a “mouse.” So did Trump ask him not to do it again?
Of course he didn’t! Because that’s what a real president would do.
“We didn’t discuss that. Really, we didn’t discuss it.”
Yeah, that’s a gargantuan abdication of the pr*sident’s responsibility, and it set off alarm bells for at least one veteran FBI official.
The Daily Beast:
Reacting to President Trump’s over hour-long Friday phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin in which Trump said he didn’t press Putin on meddling in the 2020 presidential election, former FBI Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Frank Figliuzzi claimed that POTUS had given the Russian leader the “green light” to interfere again.
...
During Friday’s Deadline: White House, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace asked Figliuzzi what jumped out at him about the phone call, noting that Trump and Putin share a “personal” relationship, and she hasn’t heard Trump “describe a foreign leader smiling since he was president.”
“It’s troubling to think the president is finding comfort in our adversary,” Figliuzzi, an MSNBC national security analyst, replied. “And our nation’s adversary is actually now his buddy. He’s finding self-affirmation in someone who gets up every morning trying to hurt our country.” The former FBI official pointed out that Trump should have told Putin that the Mueller Report contained “troubling information” about Russia’s attempts to “mess with our democracy” and that he’d receive the “wrath” of American sanctions if it happened again.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Good one, Frank Figliuzzi! Like that could ever happen with this fatheaded Quisling flopping about like a beached carp in the Oval Office. He might feel the wrath of foot massages and Ghirardelli raspberry chocolate squares, but that’s as far as he’ll go! Hasn’t Putin suffered enough embarrassment after we proved he ratfucked our entire country?
Whether Trump colluded or not (he did), he continues to betray our country by refusing to protect it. And that makes him a fucking traitor. Full stop.
