An interesting segment on CNN. It appears Senator Harris did not expect her rebuke of Biden's comments on segregationist senators to become quite the moment that it ended up being.
On CNN, she refused to attack Biden despite being goaded by the panel, calling his views on school integration a "difference of opinion". She admitted his response to her question about bussing to integrate schools, that it should have been up to cities and states instead of overseen by the federal government, was an honest surprise. It appears that Biden stepped in it, turning what she intended to be just a jab into a much fiercer attack.
Instead of attacking, she seemed to draw a contrast by praising Mayor Buttigeg for quickly and unequivocally admitting his administration's failure with the South Bend police force in retraining and attracting black police officers and for showing remorse for the pain it has brought the people in his city.
