Himself has been in a snit since before he even touched down on the Sceptred Isle, calling the Mayor of London a runt and posting audio of himself calling a new royal “nasty” to prove he never called her “nasty.” His grumbling about CNN has been widely reported, along with his call to boycott the network’s parent (wonder how many Russian billionaires shorted AT&T yesterday).
Now the Washington Post offers an explanation for His Imperial Petulance.
Just two years ago, it was possible to watch Fox News in Britain. However, in August 2017, the network was abruptly pulled off the air. A statement released by its parent company at the time pinned the blame on low ratings.
“It averages only a few thousand viewers across the day,” 21st Century Fox said in a statement provided to CNN. The company noted that this was largely because the network’s programming was aimed at American audiences.
“We have concluded that it is not in our commercial interest to continue providing Fox News in the U.K.," the statement said.
So he’s deprived of his constant electronic sugar teat and has to rely solely on his family and circle of sycophants to bolster his rickety faux ego structure.
I mean, anyone can understand his feelings. Why, if I didn’t have a television network spouting my praises 24/7, I might get a bit irritable, too.
