I remember. I felt sick, deflated, and defeated. I can honestly say I never felt this way after any other presidential election in my lifetime. I knew the darkness that was coming. I believed Donald Trump was that bad. Now we’re here.
I’ve been feeling sick for two plus years now—like our government, norms, and very republic are being systematically destroyed by Trump and his complicit Republican Party.
I’ve been fighting back with all I have, as most of you have, as well, to push back against this all-out attack against our way of life. We made huge gains in 2018. Hopefully, we can win back the White House, and more, in 2020.
This leads me to the centrists versus the left wars we’ve been seeing here lately. You see, there are plenty of people on both sides that I agree with. I don’t agree 100% with either side, but that doesn’t mean we have to attack our own to affect change and this goes for both sides, my dear friends on Daily Kos.
I know in my heart that whether you’re a centrist or you’re on the left or whatever you believe as a Democrat—we want Trump and his cronies gone. So we disagree with each other? Let’s discuss our disagreements in a manner that doesn’t bring the other side down. We desperately need each other now to defeat the evil that lurks in our government.
I really worry—and maybe this is totally unfounded—but I do. I know this diary is more of an emotional appeal than anything else, but let’s really try to work together and keep our eye on the ball. We are seeing horrible and vile things happen in our government today that terrifies the hell out of me. Imagine another four years of this destruction. Our country may never recover.
We can’t afford to wake up with a horrible sick feeling on November 4th, 2020.
