Barack Obama only ever lost 1 race for office. And the man who beat him back on March 21, 2000 had this to say about Kamala Harris.

Feuding among Biden, Booker and Harris is unpredictable force in diversifying Democratic Party
“She brings a lot of the same kind of essence that Obama brought, but she is a lot more authentic than he was,” said Rep. Bobby L. Rush (Ill.), a longtime civil rights activist who said he endorsed Harris in part because of the way she talks about race.
Obama challenged Rush in a 2000 congressional primary, and the incumbent won in part by questioning Obama’s roots in Chicago’s black neighborhoods. Rush later endorsed Obama’s presidential campaigns.
“Some people either coddle or ignore,” Rush said. “Well, Kamala don’t coddle, and she don’t ignore. It’s a part of who she is. So she can be tough, but yet she can be very, very compassionate because she’s talking about her own experience. She understands the black person’s experience.”
What we as Democrats and what all Americans are facing in 2020 is not merely a tough fight. It is a monumental uphill battle to bring honor, dignity, intelligence, compassion, respect and decency back to not only the White House, but to our government and our communities.
We need a heavyweight prizefighter who can step into the ring, hit hard and say what needs to be said in straightforward language that everyone in America and around the world can immediately understand. The reputation and the future of our great nation is at stake. The one ability our nominee must have most of all is the verbal prowess coupled with a lightning-fast mind to corner the corrupt and the dishonest and get the facts on record in a way that they cannot worm their way out of it.
Let’s examine the evidence of who is the most skilled at doing that.
The American people witnessed it up close and personal when Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions was grilled in the Senate in 2017 about his interactions with Russia.
Every year for the past 3 years, Kamala Harris has distinguished herself as a polished, erudite and razor-sharp member of the Senate who doesn’t waste time beating around the bush. She gets right to the point and phrases her arguments and questions in ways voters both clearly understand and are compelled to watch and listen.
Certainly, Brett Kavanagh found this out first hand when Senator Harris questioned him in 2018.
“Yes or no?”
In 2019, we got to witness Kamala’s prosecutorial expertise yet again in her face-off with Attorney General William Barr.
Again, “yes or no?” It’s that simple.
Asking the tough questions and getting truthful answers for the American people is the one thing we need most at this deeply divided and troubled time in our history. There is only 1 candidate for the Democratic nomination for President who demonstrates that rare talent time and time and time again--in 2017, in 2018, in 2019.
I don’t think I’m the only one who deep down inside wants to see Kamala Harris do it again in 2020.
Lest anyone think she just got lucky with her series of big viral moments in recent years, think again. This isn’t her first time at the rodeo, fellas.

Harris shows she likes the fight
In 2003, during her first run for public office as San Francisco’s district attorney, Harris faced down two male rivals, incumbent Terence Hallinan and former prosecutor Bill Fazio.
Harris’ political consultant, Jim Stearns, warned her that the men would choose an upcoming public meeting at a city church to attack her candidacy as being propped up by kingmaker and then-Mayor Willie Brown, whom Harris briefly had dated in the mid-90s.
“Those two men quickly learned what Joe Biden found out in Florida,” says Stearns. “You don’t mess with Kamala Harris. There’s always a double bind for female candidates, but she’ll throw an elbow if she needs to.”
Starting January 2021 and beyond, I’d love nothing more than to see Harris bring her brilliant mind, masterful powers of observation and unflappable rhetorical skills into negotiations with the likes of Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, Bashar al-Assad, Hassan Rouhani and many others.
We cannot win an election against Donald Trump with nothing but love when he constantly resorts to racist dog whistles, sexist attacks and open talk of violent reprisals. We will not see passage of any of our candidates’ bold ideas for groundbreaking bills to improve people’s lives if the Republicans maintain their stranglehold on the Senate.
This is a war to save our democracy, bring back integrity and restore justice to all branches of government.
Senator Kamala Harris is the one candidate who is best prepared to fight for us; the most accomplished competitor with the greatest strength and mental toughness to win the election, defeat Donald Trump and send him packing.

Group Guidelines
The Kamala2020 community group has been created to positively support Senator Kamala Harris, and not to engage in negativity towards other Democrats running in the 2020 primaries.
All should be made to feel welcomed here. What’s not welcomed here is petty bickering over any of our preferred candidates, or personal attacks on fellow Democrats. We’re not responsible for the actions of others who may offend, insult or attempt to sow discord and disunity — that’s on them.
What we are responsible for are our own words and actions — that’s 100% on us.
I’d like to ask all group members, as well as those dropping by who support or are interested in Kamala’s bid for the nomination, that we not respond to negativity from other campaign’s supporters with even more negativity. Let’s do better than our best and respond with respect, humor or try to hold our peace. Recipes and cat pics work, too 😃
Doing no harm costs us nothing... pie-fights will cost us everything.
