Let’s see Bill Barr (aka Trump’s Roy Cohn) put his hefty “unfitness for office” — in the way of these steam-roller legal proceedings, being pursued by the authorities of New York …
Manhattan district attorney subpoenas 8 years of Trump tax returns
New York County District Attorney Cyrus Vance's office has subpoenaed eight years of President Donald Trump's tax returns from Mazars USA, the longtime accounting firm to Trump and the Trump Organization, as part of its investigation into hush money payments, according to a person familiar with the matter.
[...]
"Mazars USA will respect the legal process and fully comply with its legal obligations," the company said in a statement. "We believe strongly in the ethical and professional rules and regulations that govern our industry, our work and our client interactions. As a matter of firm policy and professional rules we do not comment on the work we conduct for our clients."
Any material obtained by a grand jury subpoena is covered by grand jury secrecy rules and would likely become public only if it were used as evidence at a trial.

[New York County District Attorney] Vance is investigating issues related to hush money payoffs to porn star Stormy Daniels and Playbody model Karen McDougal, which were facilitated by Trump’s former personal lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen shortly before the 2016 presidential election.
Both women claim to have had sex with Trump years before the election. Trump has denied their allegations.
Vance is probing whether the Trump Organization falsified business records related to payoffs.

McDougal herself received $150,000 from the Trump-friendly publisher of The National Enquirer as part of a deal to keep her quiet about her allegations about Trump.
Cohen, who helped arrange the McDougal payoff, is cooperating with Vance’s probe.
The best part, according to Rachel Maddow, if Mazars USA [Trump’s accounting firm] fails to comply with the grand jury subpoena from NY state — someone will be going to jail. Unlike what has been currently happening, when Trump’s co-conspirators break the Law, when they ignore mere Congressional subpoenas.
No wonder Mazars USA is pledging their “cooperation” — there is no Bill Barr ‘obstruction’ hope in their case. New York crimes, New York rules.

Can’t wait to hear their testimony too …
If “such lies” were good enough to impeach President Bill Clinton, breaking Federal Election Laws ought to up the ante, for president grabby-hands.
