In the past 18 months, one man, Ralph Pulliam, has sent the Texas State Attorney General, Republican Ken Paxton, more than 100 pages of complaints about perceived violations of the state’s sanctuary cities laws. The complaints include all-caps threats against immigrants. His emails said, “It will be a bloodbath.” That he might be forced to “shoot” a “wet back monkey.” And asked the AG, “Do you get the point!!!!????”
The AG responded by — doing nothing. In fact, it was a reporter from the San Antonio Express-News that alerted the local police about the threats. www.expressnews.com/…
The attorney general’s office never forwarded any of the messages to the San Antonio Police Department, [Police Sgt.] Ramos said.
However
San Antonio police have known about Pulliam’s behavior for years. Since September 2017, officers responding to 911 calls — many made by Pulliam — have been sent to his house at least 35 times, but he never has been arrested.
“He’ll take it right up to the line,” Sgt. Michelle Ramos said, “but doesn’t commit the crime.”
According to Newsweek www.newsweek.com/...
When alerted by a reporter at the Express-News of the threats made to the Attorney General's Office, the police force did respond. "Since you've made us aware of those threats, our fusion center and our mental health unit have reached out to the AG's office and are trying to work something to make a case against [the alleged suspect Ralph] Pulliam," Sargent Michelle Ramos told the paper.
Pulliam is particularly bothered by two Hispanic-owned used car dealerships in his neighborhood.
Alex Delgado, who works at one of the car dealerships, said Pulliam has approached their customers who park near his home, as well as residents of the apartment complexes.
“If you park your car, he’ll come out with a gun,” Delgado said. “The little kids who live here will come out and play in the street, and he will come outside with his gun still on him, and he’ll tell the kids to get out of the street.”
According to Newsweek
The threats and lack of communication by Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to local police takes on a new light[*] in the wake of two mass shootings in Odessa and El Paso. The El Paso shooter had long written about his hatred for immigrants and his mother had reportedly called the police before the shooting because she did not think her son should own a gun.
*Seems like the same old light to me.
State Representative Trey Martinez Fischer (Dem) has written to the AG that "It is deeply alarming to me that despite the large volume and explicit nature of the messages from Mr. Pulliam, the Office of Attorney General has taken so long to cooperate with local law enforcement."
Not that local law enforcement was doing anything about this guy, either.
