It sure is quaint trying to take some non-existent moral high ground in this situation. If doing the whole schoolmarm lecture thing makes you feel better then have at it. That’s your experience, that’s your truth right now, maybe that’s how you’re dealing with the news that Trump has Covid. But don’t come in here lecturing everyone else on how to feel or labeling them as jerks in reaction to a madman, a literal evil maniac getting his due justice. Do you think you’re scoring points with your god by coming off this way, this so, so pious way? If you have a problem with It is what it is as a reaction to Trump’s Covid then you haven’t been paying attention to the last 4 miserable years. Never forget what this vile man is. Never forget what he has done.
200,000 dead (and counting)
children separated from their families
radical supreme court nominees veering from alcoholic rapists to witch burners
innocent protestors gassed, shot and killed, run over by cars
mainstreaming white supremacy
a planet he’s purposefully loading up with carbon, methane, polluted waters, land and air
calling racial sensitivity training “an attack on America”
making conspiracy theories and lies an American Value
Rudy Guliani (need I say anything more?)
McEnany
McConnell
Lyndsey Graham
attacks on democracy, voting, and freedom of the press
Don Trump Jr (yeah, he built that)
inviting hostile foreign governments to attack our democracy
pulling us out of UN Human Rights Council, Nuclear Arms Treaty
attacking our allies, the EU, the UN, etc
his racist, misogynist attacks on everyone he disagrees with
“there are good people on both sides”
There are a thousand other things this POS has done that I can’t remember because in his purposeful chaotic environment it’s nearly impossible to keep track of it all. That’s the point with wannabe dictators. That’s the plan. To create so much chaos you just give in and give up. And here we are just learning about Trump and now several other despicable republicans testing positive and you want me to be nice right now? You want me to genuflect in response? You want me to give 2 f*cks that he caught a virus he’s been telling us DOESN’T EVEN EXIST?
Get real.

I just realized I quoted Trump, in his response to violent white supremacists in Charlottesville, as saying, “there are good people on both sides.” That’s incorrect. He actually said, “very fine people.” There are “very fine people on both sides.” White supremacists. Very fine people.
My bad. It must be because I’m so “spiritually damaged” by all of the shoulder shrugging I’ve been doing this morning with each new bit of news of another republican official testing positive for Covid.

I can see from some of the comments that if you hadn’t read the other diary that was on the rec list this morning, to which this diary is a response, then this one may come off as somewhat out of left field. I never provided a link to that diary so here it is. Go read it if you like, or to better understand where this one is coming from. As the news piles up about each new republican official testing positive (was it the Amy Barrett “special release” fan show that was the super spreader event?) we are reminded just how callous and uncaring these republicans are. In their boneheaded drive to make Americans think covid was nothing to worry about they are starting to become victims of their own propaganda shitshow while simultaneously leaving a trail of crisis and tragedy in their wake. Maybe the only good that will come of this is that it wakes Americans up. Not on our side. We’ve got it. I mean those in the “middle” somehow “stuck on the fence” about who to vote for (how in the hell is that even possible?). Or maybe, just maybe, a few more republicans will wake up. At least temporarily, just for election day, and we send this whole mess back to its dark hole and bury this stain on our country for good. Stay safe. Wear your mask, social distance and for the love of all things pure, never vote for a republican. Ever.
