Mike Bloomberg is airing two distinct types of ads, some are even on Fox and Friends and other Fox News shows, and also posting them on his Twitter accounts (@MikeBloomberg and @Mike2020 left ) which will be mostly seen by Democrats. Most of them are substantive attacks against Trump, his personality and his policies. The minority are aimed at Trump personally and seem to have been crafted by psychologists who understand how best to get under his skin. The Liar, Liar, Pants On Fire dancing gingerbread man ad is the best example I’ve seen so far.
This is the Team Bloomberg pinned video tweet.
You probably read that Bloomberg is airing his ads where Trump will see them, for example on Fox and Friends:
On Thursday morning, the Democrat premiered his newest ad attacking the president on “Fox & Friends,” Trump’s favorite program that frequently lavishes praise on him. Adding insult, the show also interviewed Bloomberg’s top presidential campaign adviser, Kevin Sheekey.
“Mini Mike Bloomberg is playing poker with his foolhardy and unsuspecting Democrat rivals. He says that if he loses (he really means when!) in the primaries, he will spend money helping whoever the Democrat nominee is,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
“By doing this, he figures, they won’t hit him as hard .... during his hopeless ‘presidential’ campaign,” Trump wrote. “They will remain silent! The fact is, when Mini losses, he will be spending very little of his money on these ‘clowns’ because he will consider himself to be the biggest clown of them all — and he will be right!”
If Mike Bloomberg, the not-so-mini Mike who is isn’t taller than Trump (he’s 5’8”) is about 17 times richer than Trump, isn't the nominee I hope Trump is reminded of the prediction in this tweet:
Trump, the miserable excuse for an insult comic, is reduced to height comparisons:
Bloomberg has made this very public promise:
Exclusive: The former New York City mayor plans to continue paying hundreds of staffers and funding his digital operation to defeat Trump even if he's not the nominee.
. WASHINGTON — Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s massive campaign apparatus and an army of some 500 staffers will march on through the general election in November even if he loses the Democratic nomination, campaign officials tell NBC News, shifting their efforts toward working to elect whomever the party selects to face President Donald Trump.
Bloomberg’s vast tech operation will also be redirected to help the eventual nominee, as Democrats struggle to compete with the vaunted digital operation built by Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale. Hawkfish, a digital company started by Bloomberg that’s carrying out his $100 million online ad campaign, will be retained through Election Day to help defeat Trump, the officials said.
Awaiting the eventual nominee would be a shadow field operation across the country that’s currently unparalleled in size by any of the other candidates in the presidential race. The roughly 500 staff members Bloomberg has committed to paying through November include those in battleground states like Florida, North Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, as well as in Arizona.
According to Travis Getty (RawStory) “Bloomberg’s 2020 campaign ads are driving TV-addicted Trump crazy.”
“He’s very reactive to what he sees and the fact that Bloomberg’s ads are all over better explains the attacks on him than Trump being fearful of him,” said a Republican operative.
That GOP operative said Trump’s 2020 campaign sees Bloomberg as more of a threat to other Democrats than to the president himself.
Some of Team Bloomberg’s tweets are substantive, for example:
… and this:
However I think the ones that get to Trump mock him unmercifully, for example Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire with the dancing gingerbread cookie man.
Here’s what HuffPost said about the ad:
And it’s full of lies and the occasional “unfair.”
Trump appears to just repeat the words “lie” and “unfair” in the 2 1/2-minute clip that was edited and released by the former New York mayor’s team on Thursday.
Gingerbread men, with their pants on fire, also appear alongside the president.
Understandably the right wing media didn’t like this ad: Bloomberg’s Godawful Cringey Social Media Campaign, as if Trump is a paragon of virtue, ethics, truthfulness, and morality.
Just now on MSNBC a previously undecided voter explained that she decided to vote for Bloomberg when she saw this ad: Bloomberg Ad Compares Trump Quotes To Past Presidents
Michael Bloomberg's latest presidential campaign ad contrasts footage of soaring rhetorical moments from former presidents with the sometimes vulgar speech of the current president. Titled "Bring Presidential Back," it features moments from John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama.
"Our country has a rich history of presidents who respected the power, decorum, and influence of their office," Bloomberg tweeted with the ad. "Unfortunately, that rich history ended the day Trump became president.”
If Bloomberg isn’t the candidate and keeps his campaign team onboard as he promises to do, and they keep making compelling ads like these, Trump has every reason to be worried. On the other hand, if he is the candidate, Trump will be needing a lot more diaper changes than usual.
