Thank you, Bernie. Thank you, Joe. Deep thanks to all of the outstanding candidates who threw their souls, lives, and energy into that ring, making yourselves vulnerable and available to the rest of us, as we grasp and gasp and hope for salvation from the dark and evil cloud that has taken over the Oval Office.
You are all heroes.
Now, arm in arm, hand in hand, from 6 feet apart, let us close ranks. Let us look to the higher orders, the battle we cannot lose.
As Abe Lincoln said on March 4, 1865:
With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation's wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.
Hopefully we can do it within our own party.
We must do this in order to save our country.
