A reminder of how love and caring can make a difference in someone’s life far beyond our imagining through a Facebook post from escapee Lynn Loper’s husband Tom:
Years ago, when Idiopathic Angioedema forced her to retire from the University of Delaware, the DK community made a beautiful patchwork quilt for Lynn. At the time, I think there was a group of DK folks who made these quilts of love for cancer victims. (If anyone out there remembers these quilts- this one was by the Reed sisters, called Earth Lights- please let me know if I've gotten that right. ) When she received one - a complete and wondrous surprise to her- she felt guilty because she didn't have cancer. People who were really sick needed it much more, she thought. It touched her deeply, and she cherished her quilt. It covered her with love and caring the hours before she died.
For those who haven’t seen it, here is her obituary.
And for those on Facebook, you can post a memorial to her page.
Lynn’s wish was for people to donate a little something to a charity to help others. And to vote for Joe Biden.
Godspeed, Lynn. Our world is a little poorer and a little darker without you in it.
