Welcome To Woozle Wednesday
Welcome to Woozleville, our little doggie-designated corner at the PWB Peeps [that’s Pooties (cats), Woozles (dogs), Birdeez (duh), and us Peeps of course].
Yes, it’s Woozle Wednesday, that day of the week when the PWBP Pooties take the day off and the pooches come to the rescue and politely take up the slack — well, those that are trained not to pull on their leashes. Don’t worry, pootie lovers, the kitties insist on making an appearance even though it is supposed to be their day off. They just can’t help putting in their two meows worth. Other critters like birdeez, small pets, farm animals, and sometimes wild creatures, will also make appearances from time to time.
Let’s Face the Music and Dance
We all know how much the doggie citizens of Woozleville love a party. Last year was a tough year for their Peeps, and that means a tough year for woozles and for pooties and other pets. Yes, they notice when their hoomins are blue and the critters feel it deeply. But things are now looking up. So the Woozleville Village Event Committee decided to go all out this year and host a massive county-wide extravaganza to ring in 2021 — a fancy dress ball and fancy feast.
Why? Because we need some fun. We need some color. We need some dancing back in our lives right now. And the woozles are here to lead the way, along with their friends.
All species and all ages of critters are invited. News of the party was spread by wing, paw, sniff, meow, hoof, and howl. Residents from far and wide have been preparing for the event. The theme is Let’s Face the Music and Dance, with party frocks and costumes from Victorian to Gay Nineties to Roaring Twenties encouraged. Some prizes will be awarded, and critters are working hard on their ball gowns and period finery. It’s all in good fun, so all manner of costumes are encouraged. Music will be provided by local musicians, and lots of villagers have volunteered to help out with the entertainment. It should be a grand event.
Before we all head out to the Woozleville Community Center below the fold, we must pause for a brief word from our sponsor and the rulz:
- Do not “Troll” the Pootie Peeps Diaries. If you don’t like animal diaries, there’s no need to tell us about it. Just go find some other diary more to your liking.
- Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly.
- If you would like a pic from the comment threads, please ask the poster. He/she may have a copyright to those pics. Many thanks!
- There are some pics we never post: snakes and creepy crawlies (some folks have phobias). Any and all photos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated.
- If you’re not sure about an issue...please ask. Someone is always glad to help.
- Community Links are always welcome here.
PWB Peeps posts two diaries a day for animal lovers: a daytime diary at 1:45 pm Eastern and a nightly open thread at 10 pm Eastern.
We concoct silly stories, share photos, seek & give advice about pet health and behavior issues, support each other in times of sadness and stress, celebrate together when times are good, and on most days have an inordinate amount of fun.
You are welcome to join us! Be kind to one another, we’re all in this together.
Now, on to the blog!
OK, Woozlevillagers and guests, let’s get together below the fold.

Now, that we are all assembled, “Let’s Face the Music and Dance!”
There may be trouble ahead,
But while there's moonlight,
And music...
… and love and romance,
Let's face the music and dance.
Before the fiddlers have fled,
Before they ask us to pay the bill.
And while we still have the chance,
Let's face the music and dance.
So while there's moonlight,
And music and love and romance
Let's face the music and dance
Finally, Ladies & Gents, please make your way to the dining hall where dinner will be served!
That’s the end of the entertainment portion of the evening.
As the villagers repair to the dining hall for a splendid repast, the Peeps are invited to join us below for conversation.
