Thanks to mild temperatures, it may seem like a nice, normal day to go biking. That’s probably what Steven Blum thought as he departed for the Mason Creek Trail in Katy, suburbia west of Houston.
As Blum was going about 20 miles per hour, he has encountered a shirtless man, identified as 30-year-old Zachary Nulisch. At first, Blum believed that Nulisch was only alerting pedestrians when Nulisch called out: “rider, rider”. But, as Blum had to turn around given that he reached the end of the trail, he encountered Nulisch once again, this time armed with a metal pipe. Nulisch then swung the pipe onto the front of Blum’s bike. As Blum tried to flee the attacker, Nulisch attempted to chase him down, still with the pipe on hand. Thankfully, thanks to a gouge on the front of the bike, Blum has not suffered serious injuries, although the bike endured about $1,000 in damages, not the least of which includes a bent front wheel, a broken spoke, and chipped paint.
Zachary Nulisch is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. He is now out on bond and is scheduled to appear in court next month. I can see Nulisch trying to do damage control by writing comments on the news article(s) /s:
Khou 11 shows Mr blum.By looking at him.He reminds of a tattle tell co worker that tries to get people fired. And he drives a Honda crv.Looks like he’s from California.Just saying.
