I saw this idea discussed a while ago, and there is so much at stake that I think it’s worth discussing again.
(And I assume some of the Republican Senators are tired of what they’ve become part of and are sufficiently principled to represent us abroad, even if they have been intimidated domestically.)
We’d choose three who are planning to retire — whose states are currently governed by Democrats — and offer them ambassadorships to resign now. And get voting rights and the infrastructure bill and other important legislation passed so the US has a fighting chance to come through this in some sort of order. So I can look Stacey Abrams (and everyone else who worked so hard) in the eye because their efforts were not in vain.

I’ve got to get to work at one of my side jobs, but please talk amongst yourselves or raise this with someone who can pass it on.
