It’s Election Day. Regardless of what happens over the next couple of hours and days, one thing is for sure: Donald Trump wants to fundraise more money that he can use to pay legal fees. Thankfully for the disgraced former president, his ego is so fragile and warped in size and his pathological narcissism is so absolute that his continued popularity among the minority Republican Party means he can and will likely run for president in 2024. It really doesn’t matter whether or not he is embroiled in lawsuits, or if he ends up in prison. Trump can and will likely announce his candidacy for the 2024 GOP nomination sometime in the middle of next week.
On Monday night, while ramping up the rhetoric in Vandalia, Ohio, Trump told the crowd that he would be making a “big announcement” on Nov. 15 at Mar-a-Lago. Trump’s been trying to gain more media publicity by doing what passes for “stumping” by Trump: basically holding MAGA rallies in states where GOP candidates hope his presence helps them. During his last few rallies and statement about his upcoming rallies, Trump has attempted to tease out his imminent presidential announcement. Since Trump is only ever campaigning for Donald Trump—since the early 1980s—it really hasn’t meant much.
But since we are now approaching Trump’s official announcement date, this means Trump is getting ready to begin attacking any and everyone he sees as a threat. His main threat is another villain of humanity, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida. A few days ago, Trump called the GOP panhandle leader “Ron DeSanctimonious.” Late Monday night, Trump added a dark and vague threat to his anti-DeSantis rhetoric workshop.
The Wall Street Journal reports that while flying back from Ohio to Florida, Trump acknowledged DeSantis by saying: “I don't know that he’s running. I think if he runs he could hurt himself very badly.” After saying he thought DeSantis would be making a “mistake” if he ran for president, Trump added this classic piece of scumbag-bully dirtbaggery:
“If he runs, he runs,” Mr. Trump said. But he added: “If he did run, I will tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering. I know more about him than anybody other than perhaps his wife, who is really running his campaign.”
The only hope for America is that these two terrible people really take each other on the campaign trail and lead to a blue wave of progressive wins in 2024.
Update: It seems that Trump has located his lawyer and she’s just a condescending and crappy as he is.
