The GOP sent out a tweet for President’s Day that sets a new low (yes, they can still go lower) for pettiness:
which includes the image above.
GOP wishes happy Presidents Day to past presidents except Biden
(The Hill’s headline is a bit off, since Biden isn’t a “past” president.)
The Republican National Committee's official GOP Twitter handle marked Presidents Day with an attack on President Biden.
The GOP tweeted a collage of images of past Republican presidents such as Abraham Lincoln, Richard Nixon and Donald Trump, and wished them a happy Presidents Day.
The GOP also included a masked photo of Biden with the words "NOT YOU" in red capital letters.
Now, we never liked TFG, and we made fun of him and griped about him and opposed him, but we always had to recognize that he was the president (sigh) and the office of the president demands a certain amount of respect. And it’s not like there have only been 8 Republican presidents; Teddy Roosevelt, for example, actually was a pretty good president.
This should be a wake-up to anyone who still thinks bipartisanship is possible. Biden may no longer be in that category, finally:
Biden, however, has also adopted a stronger tone with the GOP since the start of the year and accused them in a speech in January of being "obstructionist."
Now if we can only get the Democratic party to go on the warpath.
