A new Supreme Court leak appeared on Sunday, and this one is definitely from the conservative wing of the court. The Washington Post described its sources as "three conservatives close to the court" and "a person close to the court's most conservative members." But what was such vital news that the court's conservatives needed to abandon previous alarm over the court's "private deliberations" and run to the press to leak more about them?
The news that Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts tried to convince conservatives to allow Mississippi's new 15-week ban on abortions without overturning Roe v. Wade entirely, but the other five court conservatives told him to pound sand. That's the news. And we already knew that. So ... what's the point of such an aggressive leak?
