Stop the Steal organizer Ali Alexander, a leading figure in the MAGA movement, is caught up in a growing online scandal after he was accused of soliciting at least two teenage boys for sexual pictures. The Daily Beast reported that Alexander issued a statement apologizing “for any inappropriate messages sent over the years.”
Alexander testified before the House Select Committee last year about his role in events leading up to the Jan. 6 Insurrection. Alexander rose in the ranks of right-wing bloggers to become a protege of Roger Stone and InfoWars chief Alex Jones.
In his statement, Alexander, who has previously described himself as bisexual, denied doing anything “unlawful” and claimed he was being targeted by false accusations and edited screenshots of his messages.
Alexander offered a general apology in a statement issued Friday on Telegram. He wrote:
“I apologize for any inappropriate messages sent over the years. Forgive me. While having repented before God and confess at Church, I want my supporters and those involved to hear my apology today.
“When I’ve flirted or others have flirted with me, I’ve flexed my credentials or dropped corny pick up lines. Other times, I’ve been careless and should’ve qualified those coming up to me’s identities during flirtatious banter at the start.
“Nothing unlawful has occurred. Seeing false claims alongside real messages is a deceptive technique.”
The Daily Beast reported that rumors about Alexander’s alleged sexual behavior towards younger men “reached a new level last month” after right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos claimed Alexander and Nick Fuentes, leader of the extreme right “America First” movement, pushed him out of a potentially lucrative position in rapper Kanye “Ye” West’s presidential campaign.
So Yiannopoulos started releasing video interviews and other evidence that meant to prove that Alexander sexually propositioned adult men in their 20s as well as at least two teenage boys, according to The Daily Beast.
Yiannopoulos released a screenshot that purportedly shows Alexander dangling the prospect of a meeting with Yiannopoulos to entice a 15-year-old boy to send him nude pictures. In 2017, Aidan Duncan—a 15-year-old boy in Colorado interested in right-wing politics—sent the 32-year-old Alexander nude pictures after the MAGA activist asked him for them, according to an account Duncan gave in a March 2023 podcast appearance, The Daily Beast reported.
The Daily Beast story described what happened when Alexander became dissatisfied with the teenager he was soliciting.
But Alexander had grown frustrated by May 2019, claiming that the still-underage Duncan wouldn’t send him “good jack off material,” according to the screenshots.
“You don’t even send me videos anymore,” Alexander wrote, according to the message. “No good jack off material. Don’t even wanna be my side piece.”
A day later, according to the screenshots, he asked Duncan to come to Texas for a week for an “internship.”
Duncan, now 21, using the name “Smiley,” has become a high-profile member of Fuentes’ racist, neo-Nazi “America First” movement, The Daily Beast reported.
Last Thursday, Duncan posted a statement on Twitter about he online communications with Alexander. He said that he never met Alexander in person. I won’t provide a link to the tweet because it contains anti-homosexual diatribes. Duncan wrote:
“When I was 15 I was naive and desperate. I thought I had no choice but to cooperate with inappropriate and humiliating requests if I wanted to make it in politics. I figured that was just the nature of the game.”
“Despite being disgusted I played along and eventually I was afraid what would happen if I refused to go along.”
Alexander also started messaging a 17-year-old, Lance Johnston, a rising star in conservative TikTok communities, in 2019. Johnston told The Daily Beast that Alexander sent him an eggplant emoji and asked for a picture of his penis, which Johnston refused to send.
And now Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is calling on the FBI to investigate a far-right MAGA supporter for allegedly propositioning teenage boys involved in Fuentes’ white supremacist organization.
In Feb. 2022, Greene spoke at an America First Political Action Committee event hosted by Fuentes. But in November, they had a falling out after Greene decided to support Kevin McCarthy’s bid to become House speaker.
Greene called the anti-Semitic Fuentes too extreme and an “immature young man.” Fuentes called her “a divorced woman girlboss” who has no claim to being “the face of Christian nationalism.”
And now we know where to find those groomers—in the MAGA ranks.
