Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez runs through the Republican witnesses, asking them all the same question: “Have you, in your testimony today, presented any firsthand testimony of crimes committed by the President of the United States?”
All of them answered, “No.”
Ocasio-Cortez then points out that the only people in the room under oath are the witnesses, because the speech and debate clause lets the members of Congress lie like … fill in your own appropriate term.
She then draws special attention to the supposed text message presented earlier, which was a fake. She pulls out the actual message, and then explains again that Congress members can lie like a … rug. Let’s just go with rug.
