Avowed neo-Nazi and white nationalist Nick Fuentes celebrated Donald Trump winning the GOP Iowa caucus this week by declaring himself a “Donald Trump cultist,” performing a Nazi salute, and vowing to commit murder on Trump’s behalf should the former president call for it.
“I am a Trump cultist, and I want everyone to know that I am not a Republican,” Fuentes says in a clip flagged by hate monitor Right Wing Watch.
“Do not lump me in with them. I am not a Republican. I do not support McCarthy. I do not support McConnell. I do not support Haley or DeSantis. I do not watch Fox News. I don’t support any of that. I am a Donald Trump cultist,” Fuentes declares, making clear his affiliation is solely with Trump.
“I am a soldier for Donald Trump. I am part of, I serve at the personal pleasure of Donald Trump, my supreme leader. I am part of the paramilitary wing of the Trump movement. I am part of the Revolutionary Guard. I do not answer to the Pentagon. I do not answer to the civilian government. I answer. I am the pretorian guard of Donald Trump. If Donald Trump ordered me to do an extrajudicial killing, I would perform it,” Fuentes added.

The story almost makes comment superfluous. What more can be said?
A lot. For example, a Democrat (or even a Republican with a spine) might say the following.
Hello. My name is XXX and I’m running for U.S. XXX in the State of XXX. If you live here in XXX, I’d very much appreciate your vote. But that’s not what I’m here to talk about. What I have to say is much, much more important.
There are today in the United States not two political parties but three: The Democratic Party, the Republican Party, and Donald Trump’s Traitor Party. I’m a member of the Democratic Party. Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney are members of the Republican Party. Sadly, many in the U.S. Senate and House who call themselves “Republican” are members of Trump’s Traitor Party. They give their allegiance not to the U.S. constitution but to a single man, Donald Trump. They grovel before Trump and pay him tribute by supporting his Big Lie.
Trump’s Traitor Party tried to take control of our government in January 2021 through violence. Their coup failed. Now they are laying the groundwork for a slow-motion coup. They are removing voting machines in polling places. They are passing voter suppression laws. They’re gerrymandering. In state legislatures across the U.S., they have given themselves the power to overturn the will of the people.
If the Traitor Party gains control of the U.S. House and Senate in November, that election may be our last free and fair election. The United States may fall, as other countries have, under the rule of an authoritarian government where votes don’t matter.
We cannot let this happen. If American democracy is to survive, we must destroy the Traitor Party root and stem. It is crucial that we defeat the Traitor Party this November.
Therefore, I ask you—no, I beg you—to vote in the election this November. Vote Democrat; vote Republican; but please do not give your vote to Donald Trump’s Traitor Party. And I ask you to alert your family, your friends, and your coworkers to this mortal threat to our nation.
Some may say this message is too divisive, but acknowledging division is not the same as creating it. The Traitor Party has declared war on democracy itself. This is a plain fact that some wish to ignore. But we ignore reality at our peril as when people who say they’d rather die than get the vaccine are granted their wish.
Our democracy has existed for almost two hundred and fifty years. We cannot let it die in 2024.
Thank you.
