[Mike] Johnson’s role in pursuing efforts to overturn the 2020 election results has regained attention recently amid his speakership bid. On Tuesday, the political team of Republican former Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming — who broke with Trump over his baseless claims of a stolen election — circulated a New York Times article that called him “the most important architect of the Electoral College objections” on Jan. 6, 2021, aimed at keeping Trump in office even after he lost.
The Times reported last year that many Republicans who voted to discount pro-Biden electors cited an argument crafted by Johnson, which was to ignore the false claims about mass fraud in the election and instead hang the objection on the claim that certain states’ voting changes during the Covid-19 pandemic were unconstitutional.
As rioters were overtaking the Capitol on Jan. 6, Johnson told Fox News in an interview that there was "nothing unusual" about Republican lawmakers' objections to the Electoral College certification and that "there’ve been many objections over the years.”

That previous story highlights the explicit election-denial communications between “architect Johnson” and traitorous Trump; and in turn, with his fellow congressional-lackeys. I encourage you to read them.
It would seem that Dictator Donald has found a loyal foot-soldier in the current Speaker Johnson. Someone who was willing to overturn several state elections, all in order to keep Dear Leader in power:
[Mike Johnson, the Louisiana congressman who was elected speaker of the House] remained one of Trump’s chief defenders through the 2020 election. On Nov. 7, 2020, four days after Election Day, he posted on Twitter that he had told Trump, “Stay strong and keep fighting, sir!” In an interview on a Shreveport, Louisiana, radio station 10 days later, he repeated a debunked claim about an international conspiracy to hack voting machines so Trump would lose.
“In every election in American history, there’s some small element of fraud, irregularity,” Johnson said in the interview. “But when you have it on a broad scale, when you have a software system that is used all around the country that is suspect because it came from Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, when you have testimonials of people like this, it demands to be litigated.”
Johnson then organized more than 100 House Republicans to sign onto an amicus brief filed in support of a lawsuit from Texas’ Republican Attorney General, Ken Paxton, asking the U.S. Supreme Court to invalidate Biden’s wins in four states that gave him his winning margin in the Electoral College — Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Many legal analysts were aghast at the litigation, which was quickly rejected by the high court.

Fast forward to his promotion from foot-soldier to pivotal power player:
After winning the chaos caucus vote for GOP speaker, button-down Mike has the ‘lawyerly tact’ to address/dismiss-out-of-hand the genuine concerns of the Press ...

When ABC News’ Rachel Scott asked at a rowdy press conference about Johnson leading the House Republican effort to overturn the 2020 election results, his colleagues huddled around him at the microphone broke out into boos and jeers at the reporter.
To which Johnson shook his head, smiled wryly, and squeaked out: “Next Question.”

THIS is how they get away with it, people. When confronted with the facts — they flatly deny them. They refuse to answer for their own rebellious actions.
AND then the compliant reporters just let them lie — to the detriment of the country — when that next question just drops the matter. As requested.
Such refusal to press the issue, amounts to complicity, in this new authoritarian age of rolling insurrection, that is Trump’s legacy.

Don’t say that it can’t happen here. Because it already has: The blatant attempt to hijack democracy. Worst thing about it: Next time around they just might succeed at it:
“to discount pro-Biden electors [by] citing an argument crafted by Johnson ...”
AKA, to nullify YOUR VOTES in a certified, fair, and legal election.
Question: What is more dangerous than a lying George Santos?
Answer: Another professional liar (with a lawyer’s pedigree), who can dismiss his own failed insurrection efforts, with a sly smile, and an ‘Awe shucks, it wasn’t me’ ... “Next Question.”
