As often happens, I woke up with my mind in a whirl and needed to purge my thoughts on the current state of affairs in America.
Yah know, light ruminations.
One stream focused on the Katie Britt *finger quotes* incident and how sad it was that the GOP believed putting an accomplished woman in a kitchen would resonate with female voters.
No wonder GOP men have a hard time getting laid (the source of a lot of their lady hate and anger)—but I digress.
Most GOP pundits were focused on the wrong stuff post-Britt SOTU disaster. Below are a few doozie hot takes that were head-scratchingly dumb and out of touch—apologies in advance for the loss of brain cells (attribution Meidas Touch Network):
Oh, honey—is there a best?
Seriously.
It’s not the messenger—it’s the message!
Why the GOP will never learn.
Republican meltdowns over Katie Britt's performance mostly focused on her performative theatrics, not the meat of her message, which was far more problematic. For instance, TikToker Jonathan M. Katz connected the dots regarding the story she told about a sex trafficking victim she met at the border.
In her anecdote, Britt claimed she met a woman who had been sold into the sex trade by cartels at the age of twelve. Although, by her own account, Britt had supposedly spoken to what would then be a grown woman, she tried to blame Biden for it.
Never mind that child abuse is rampant in the US of A, too; no cartels needed—just ask any head of a Christian Youth Group.
In any case, Katz wasn’t having it.
As per Rawstory:
Katz's digging turned up some proof the victim didn't experience the attacks on American soil, but he also found that the timeline proved Biden wasn't even in office.
There was a trip that Britt took along with Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) along with Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) to the the Del Rio Sector back in last January — all documented on Blackburn's website.
He then cross-referenced the details and found the name: Karla Jacinto Romero, who is described as being pimped by a 22-year-old man at the age of 12, and "enslaved until the age of 16 in brothels, roadside motels and homes in Guadalajara and other cities in Mexico."
These events didn't happen in the United States," said Katz. "These crimes didn't take place in the United States. Or even near the border. They took place in Mexico."
And they also took place, according to Romero's recounting before Congress, between 2004 and 2008.
Biden didn't become Vice President until 2009. The president at the time when Romero was kidnapped and ultimately rescued was George W. Bush.
Facts, facts, all those pesky, smesky facts!
You can see the actual video he created here.

During her SOTUA rebuttal, Katie Britt also lied and said the border crisis was solved under Trump; even insinuated a wall had been under construction during Trump’s Administration.
Yeah, ask Steve Bannon how that whole thing went.
In other words, she lie, lie, lie like a Persian rug do.
It’s the logical fallacies, stupid
The modern conservative movement is rooted in means-spirited policies, otherisms, conspiracy theories, and logical fallacies.
Look at their anti-science, anti-vax stances, the romanticization of a racially segregated past, contemporary racist assumptions, and their almost proud lack of any knowledge of female reproductive systems. None of this is new, mind you, this mindset emerged in the Nixon era, MAGA just made it okay to say the quiet parts out loud—it’s as if they strive to innoculate themselves against the knowledge of how anything in waking reality works.
Yet they attempt to take their uninformed, cruelty-based opinions and make laws for the rest of us to obey upon pain of death.
Add to this their Christofacist bend, and is it any wonder people are cocking their heads to the side like a confused Coker Spaniel whenever a Republican speaks about—well—anything?
Key takeway…
That MAGA will use a lie, one that vilifies Biden for a supposed “crime” he did not commit, using a person Republicans themselves would refuse to help, and the main focus was on Katie’s delivery and background setting. This is how Republicans keep winning. Not one GOP candidate should ever be close in any American election race with their awful policies, yet they continue to employ Britt-style theatrics and lies to win.
People focus far too often on the handwaving and nastiness, not the GOP message's meat—nothing.
They got nothing.
Sadly, they will go to any lengths, including harming the abused—to make us unaware of the fact.
Let’s ensure more of us pound this home in the coming election.
Mass MAGA rejection is happening
Thankfully, their ideas are being rejected soundly because people are waking up to the realization that they are based on power-tipping control freak fever dreams and lies.
Republicans know they are on the wrong side of history, so they send out an AI bot like Katie Britt to do their bidding, hoping a fake smile and pretty hair will mesmerize the population.
What was the end goal? To help Americans forget that the foundational principles the GOP philosophy rests upon are little more than a hill of sand. Good news though—the rain is about to pour in.
A P.S. Should Laura Loomer decide she wants to leave MAGA and come to the Liberal side, I know we like all that kumbaya shit, but can we just not? Thank you.
