Hello!
Here we go again.
I enjoy posting music diaries each Sunday.
And one big reason is that each week, at least a few commentators enjoy it as well.
A few days ago, I turned on my radio.
My radio is solar powered, and has a flashlight, and USB ports.
Kind of a prepper thing.
For so many decades, from about 1965, to about 2005, I used to listen to the radio, mostly in my car.
Nowadays, I have no car, and for almost 20 years, I have been listening to music on YouTube, not the radio.
When I turned on my radio, and found a clear FM station, it was an alternative rock station.
So, I decided that this week, I will post a little alternative rock music.
All of you, my friendly commentators, you may post any song you like in the comments, either within the category of alternative rock, or any music you like.
As I suggest in my title, I feel that I do not have a clear definition of mainstream rock, so, therefore, I truly am not sure how the world defines alternative rock.
Anyway.
I will start with a song by my cousin, Paris Jane:
How do you define her music?
Now, I will post a few songs from a list I found on YouTube, that says, “Alternative Rock”
Nice, emotional.
Powerful.
I have a lot of emotional pain, from the loss of my father, Don, and my first wife, Pam, and my second wife, Tonia.
I suppose the blows from a boxing match make a reasonable metaphor.
I do not like the regular video for that one, so I posted the one that just has the lyrics.
I like that better.
The lyrics leave me confused, but I like the music!
Ha!
Okay, the video has a con game in it, with a heist, to steal a lot of cash.
But the music is so smooth, and emotional.
That video is so silly!
The battle of the plush toys!
Ha!
But I truly enjoy the music, any old way.
Okay, the lyrics are sad, but the music sounds light and carefree!
Ha!
Wow.
So powerful, so smooth.
So smooth, so nice, so many nice guitar sounds.
But I did not catch: what is the one thing that matters?
Maybe one of you can tell me in the comments.
Ha!
Okay, that is nine songs, chosen from a list of alternative rock songs I found on YouTube.
Feel free to post other alternative rock songs, or rock songs, or any songs you like, in the comments.
Hugs!
