Thanks Niqqi, I'll take it! Click the xit to see the impact of Haley caving to FIDJT.

Interesting, if cynical take.
Nikki Haley served her purpose beautifully, which was to split the non-‘Trump only’ vote and prevent the primary from becoming a one-on-one Trump vs DeSantis contest.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see her rewarded for that in a 2nd Trump admin if he wins in November.

Didn't Reagan claim something similar with the Iranian hostages?
While the world contemplates whether he will finally be held accountable, he felt it necessary to brag about being besties with a murderous dictator.

Amen Molly! And Maya Angelou.

From Laurence Tribe, click the xit to watch.
Laurence Tribe: Alito serves not for life but during good behavior. That’s the language of the constitution. It is settled that any judge or justice that commits high crimes and misdemeanors, that certainly includes giving aid and comfort to an insurrection against the Constitution which is close to treason, that any such person is subject to impeachment. The very fact that the House will not do its duty is not an excuse for the Senate not to at least initiate serious investigation into whether or not impeachable offenses have been committed…

After they're done with wimminfolk, they'll be laser focused on rolling back even more voting rights.
In a 6-3 decision, the conservative Supreme Court just reversed a lower court ruling finding that South Carolina's congressional map was racially gerrymandered.
All three liberal justices dissented.
Flag: Clarence Thomas, in a concurring opinion, says federal courts should no longer hear racial gerrymandering claims: "I write separately to address whether our voting-rights precedents are faithful to the Constitution."
===
Justice Kagan dissenting in the South Carolina gerrymandering case:
"The majority's attempt to explain its contrary result fails at every turn. The majority picks and chooses evidence to its liking; ignores or minimizes less convenient proof; disdains the panel's judgments about witness credibility; and makes a series of mistakes about expert opinions. The majority declares that it knows better than the District Court what happened in a South Carolina map-drawing room to produce District 1. But the proof is in the pudding: On page after page, the majority's opinion betrays its distance from, and lack of familiarity with, the events and evidence central to this case."

In case you were wondering.
Speaker Mike Johnson has "An Appeal to Heaven" flag – the same one flown by Justice Alito and many Jan 6 insurrectionists – outside his office. The flag is a Christian Nationalist symbol that signals a desire to reshape the U.S. into a Christian Nationalist nation.

It figures.
While Trump is busy endorsing hundreds of candidates who have no opponent or have no serious opposition then taking credit for their victories, he refuses to endorse Republicans matched up against Democrats where they are likely to lose

Hahahaha! Someone just tanked their Veep chances!
Tim Scott’s Ad for Trump Diverts 95% of Donations to Tim Scott For America. Tim Scott solicits donations for Trump, but the default allocation raises questions about where the money actually goes.

✂️
The page asks potential contributors if they will join Scott by making a donation to help Trump win in November. However, unless a contributor clicks to view the default allocations, they might be unaware that 95% of their contribution goes towards ‘Tim Scott for America SC-SEN’ and only 5% goes towards the ‘Trump National Committee JFC President.’ This information is only displayed if you specifically click on a link to view the default allocation.
someones been taking lessons from the master…

Hey Slideman and WP, for your poetic rhyme time musings.
So, just for kicks, I put up a billboard a few miles south of Palm Beach on I-95 South, perfect for anyone happening to travel from Mar-a-Lago to Doral to, say, play golf. Right around Exit 64, I believe. They’re going to send me better photos later.

GOOD!
Gov. Mike DeWine calls special legislative session to address Biden ballot issue www.cleveland.com/…
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Gov. Mike DeWine has taken the rare step of calling a special legislative session, in effect summoning the General Assembly to make sure that President Joe Biden qualifies for the ballot this November.
DeWine announced in a Thursday evening press conference that he would be calling the special session for Tuesday May 28 . It marked the first time a governor has called a special session for 20 years. Otherwise, the legislature wasn’t scheduled to meet again until June 12.
Cue the GQP outrage in 3...2...1…
