This investigation has been ongoing, but the SEC and Justice Department furthered the investigation in a statement filed on Friday. France and Nigeria are also investigating.
The media and the Bush Administration want to bury this story. Why else would the SEC and Justice Department wait until a Friday to expand the investigation?
Dick Cheney was CEO when this took place. Even though the company is all but acknowledging it's true, they say no top executives had any part in this.
How can they expect that the American people wouldn't think that Cheney was involved in $132 million worth of bribes? Did it somehow escape his notice?
