Lance Armstrong may have pioneered them, but now the Democrats are making good use of them. Several groups have started making blue (and black) armbands in support of a progressive agenda. Some profits from the sales are benefiting Democratic organizations.
The Think Blue 2008 bands arrived in the mail a few days ago. I've handed out quite a few of them to my friends and they love them. Think Blue's band are unique because they donate all of their profit to either Moveon.org or Tsunami relief. The other bands only donate a portion.
Think Blue is also handing out 10,000 bands during Bush's 'inauguration.'
Orders are coming in from around the country and, underwritten by an anonymous donor, Busselle and company are flying to Washington, D.C., next week to pass out 10,000 bracelets at Inauguration Day protests. They want the bracelets to serve as "a call to action to remind that the next election is on this date, and let's pay attention and make things different next time," Busselle said.
So, head over to
Think Blue and buy some bands. (Only a buck each - get ten of them)
Another company
I DID NOT VOTE 4 BUSH sells black armbands. They give a portion of their profits to various progressive causes.
