Thought I'd give an attorney's perspective on Roberts' record. Personally, I wouldn't put much stock in anything he's written or signed as Solicitor General. In that context, he is speaking for his client. His own opinions may be quite different.
For example, I've represented criminals, businesses, and little old ladies being screwed over by insurance companies. I may not always agree with my client's position, but its my job to represent him/her to the best of my ability. Just because I write a brief for a thief doesn't mean I'm a thief. I'm just being an advocate.
I have not done any research, but a better way to predict Roberts' future rulings (because lets face it, no one cares if he's qualified. Its all about how he's gonna rule down the road) is to check his writings and rulings. In those he's not being an advocate for someone else. He's stating his own opinions.
