My friends at Daily Kos,
For well over a year, I have been a member of this community and the level of support that dKos provides has been remarkable.
Last year when I ran for US House, I was given unprecedented support thanks to the blogosphere, and it all began here. I was moved as I witnessed people uprooting their entire lives, just so they could travel to my district and help me win an election. There are FAR too many of you to list here....but you know who you and and I thank each and every one of you.
Next weekend, I'm asking you to go through the same experience, this time for Paul Hackett in Ohio's 2nd Congressional District.
On the morning of Saturday, July 30th, I will travel down to Southwest Ohio and meet up with Hackett's campaign. What happens next, I'll leave that up to them. My job will be to convince as many people as possible to vote for Paul Hackett and to continue the movement towards making Ohio a blue state.
I want you to come with me.
Remember when we celebrated our victory in Kentucky when Ben Chandler won his special election? Do you recall how excited we all were when Stephanie Herseth did the same thing in South Dakota? Don't you wish you could have been there to feel that excitement?
You can, and you should. Come with me to OH-2 next weekend.
On Sunday, July 31st, Paul Hackett will be joined by several 2006 Democratic candidates for US House in Ohio. We will be coming from all over the state to show support for our future colleague, and we need you to be there with us. So far, candidates from OH-3 (David Fierst), OH-7 (Tony Bourne), OH-15 (Mark Losey) and OH-16 (myself) have promised to be there.
Several blogs have kicked in and are raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for Hackett. That's just one part of the equation. get your butts into Ohio and finish the job for the Democratic party.
I'll see you next weekend....right?
