... swing voters, that is.
I see us doing two basic types of persuasion: (1) motivating and preparing the faithful to go out and take action in various ways (write letters, canvas for a campaign, talk to people, attend a rally, contribute money) and (2) coaxing independents and people on the "other side" into our fold.
I don't often find myself in a position to do accomplish #2. My family, friends, and coworkers are already mostly liberal.
I do stumble across mentions on the web of people talking to their more conservative (or simply tuned-out) family members, and every once in a while seeing some signs of change. I wish there were a place where those "Aunt Emily sees the light" or even "Uncle Bob refuses to change his mind" stories were collected. Anyone have anything to contribute? Or do a lot of you find yourself in the same situation as me?
Finally, is there such a thing as a web site where there is a thriving exchange of ideas between people who are already D and people who are open to switching?
