It will not be enough for George W. Bush and this administration to admit fault, and never mind the fact that such a moment will almost certainly never come. Those Democrats in the Senate who supported this invasion for whatever reasons, and those members of the news media who provided cover for the invasion by repeating the lies because it was easier than actually acting like journalists, owe a debt of sorrow and remorse to us all.
If the Democrats and the media expect Bush to accept responsibility and admit fault, they must first do so themselves. The stain of their actions is still there, still with us. They must find the courage, today, to admit they were wrong. Reid's stand on Tuesday was an excellent beginning, but only a beginning. Unless this beginning is followed by action, the horrors created will remain with us, still there, going nowhere but deeper into darkness.

When are Hillary and Biden and Kerry gonna
get it? Do people like me and Pitt and Gary Hart make up most of the people who would potentially vote for someone in the Democratic presidential primaries and in the presidential election? Maybe not.
Hell, even if it is probably not... we make up a large enough chunk that we can derail ANY campaign!
Looking at us like we'll vote for you because... hey... who else are we going to vote for... is a stupid move. Won't the people who are turned off by your long overdue admission you were simply wrong... won't they, in the end, also vote for you?
Let me tell you something. Many of us WILL vote for a Republican like Chuck Hagel... if for nothing else, to punish you, Hillary! Once the Republican party knows that, You. Are. Screwed.
You have until January 1st. This coming January 1st.
Never mind a deadline for withdrawal from Iraq. Here and now, I'm calling upon like-minded individuals to set a deadline of January 1st, 2006, for Democrats in Congress who voted for the Iraq invasion to admit they were wrong. NOT... say you were misguided by lies from the Bush administration. You were warned they were lies before you voted.
And Hillary... no more stay the course bullshit! That WAS a cowardly, political hedge. Now it is just obscene. You're not Margaret Thatcher! We don't want a Margaret Thatcher as President of the United States. It's not working anyway. You're quickly becoming the Democratic party's Judith Miller.
We pledge not to vote for you, in fact, to work against you, if you do not simply say you were wrong by that deadline. If my fellow readers of dailyKos agree, please Recommend this diary. We can make a difference.
Let them know that their deadline is January 1st, 2006.
