Some of you may have heard... Howard Dean's takin' it to the streets on April 29th and he needs our help. The goal? To organize as many events in all 50 states as we can - get out and pound the pavement and talk to as many of our neighbors as possible.
This is just a friendly reminder that today's the last day you can register an event in your community, and still get a supply of door-hangers and literature in time for the 29th.
Go here http://www.democrats.org/... to register your Neighbor-to-Neighbor National Organizing Day canvassing event.
If don't have a lot of experience in organizing things like this, you can always help out with an event already planned in your community. So far, they have 600 planned around the country so there's bound to be something near you. Just plug in your zip code here (
http://www.democrats.org/...) and sign up.
A bit of the blurb sent out by the DNC earlier this week...
Never before has our party been more organized in advance of an election, and all the signs point to this being a big election year for Democrats. But if we want to win in November, we've got to fight now to reach every community and build a solid operation before Election Day.
Volunteers knocking on doors on April 29th will carry a simple piece of literature. It summarizes the Democratic vision and offers an opportunity to make a connection and be a part of the movement for change.
BTW - I know a lot of you are heading up to New York that weekend. The DNC's taken that into account and is urging folks to set up a canvassing event on another date (the following weekend maybe?). They have a lot of great info on their site on the do's and don'ts of canvassing - what to look for and how to approach your neighbors when talking with them. Check it out and sign up if you can.
Ok - that's it. We have our marching orders - now let's get to work!
