CNN has finally recognised the "Christian" embassy at the Pentagon?
Sorry to disappoint all you Kossaks, but CNN has known about this (or at least similar stories) for a long time. And they've chosen to ignore the story.
Last year, the weekend before 9-11, the Pentagon was opened to the public. And while I was at Camp Democracy a few people including Iraq War Vets went to go visit the new memorial for the 9-11 victims.
About 30 people went there just like the 100's of tourists that day. Except there was something different, they were peace activists and some were dressed up in black veils and some wore peace signs.
Yet, something odd happened. This group was herded around by the police in an unusual and inappropriate way. They were treated differently by the police and eventually separated from the rest of the tourists.
It was during this visit that the Iraq Veterans saw the literature on the table describing how a "Christian soldier" should respond to war. There was a Christian Bible and a bunch of Christian and War propaganda. So someone set down their literature on Depleted Uranium.
All Hell broke loose after that.
As a result all thirty people were threatened with arrest and five were actually arrested.
Media was called! The following link form Camp Democracy was recorded the next morning at the Press Conference for the Pentagon Five as we called them.
Watch this dvd from Camp Democracy.
Democracy Now interviewed the men and women immediately after the fact. A few media stations sent a reporter and we were told they were "Pooling the video."
Then, we never heard about this again.
The next day after the press conference was 9-11. Some from Camp Democracy went to the Pentagon wearing their "We will not be silent" t'shirts.
And we waited to see if the media would show either. They did nothing.
Watch the video and listen to the vets speak. It was incredible. The media should have shown the world the truth. They chose not to.
I hope this story gets legs now. But in the meantime, how many have died while the media lied?
(On a side note, you can purchase the whole Camp Democracy DVD which includes an interview with a few of these vets with Jesselyn Radack's book for a special price. Hurry though...Limited time/Limited supply. Updated to add: Also, right now the sale profits from this Camp Democracy offer go directly to Iraq Vets against the War. So please buy or donate.)
Updated to add: here's the Pentagon Five holding their 'dastardly literature."

Thank you everyone who responded so wonderfully to my thread. I honestly thought it was done-for and sunk. So I left to go to services and a family celebration. As part of the sermon, we heard about the unsung heros--the courageous people who just stood their ground and didn't bow to pressure and didn't bow to evil.
It brought to mind all of you here and what I've felt towards what I've been participating in as an online activist. I've often felt that all of us here are unsung heroes.
I know Jesselyn is a wonderful, kind, and honest to goodness unsung hero with a heck of a lot integrity too!
I know that Geoff is just as wonderful and great.
And I know all the incredible Iraq Vets, the Afghan Vets, the Vietnam vets I've met are all wonderful unsung heroes. I met some special Vets at Camp Democracy and think of them often.
Thank you all of you for allowing me to be an unsung hero with you. And thank you for keeping this thread alive while I was gone.
Now...I will respond to your comments.
