I must start out by apologizing to the dKos community. I have been a somewhat tepid supporter of keeping Terri Shiavo alive. As a pro-life Catholic Democrat, I believe that when there is no living will and disagreement on her intention--you have to side with life.
The reason for my apology:
MSNBC has just posted on their website (7:15pm) this story with amazing and unbelievable claims--HERE.
In one of the most recent filings in a state court, the Schindlers claim that their daughter tried to utter the sentence on March 18: "I want to live."

So, the cable news channels have taken it hook, line, and sinker...I guess we can expect this turn in events to be the talk this weekend...
My apology is based on the fact that I can no longer support people that for all intents and purposes have reverted to the same old Republican pro-life tactics of--
do ANYTHING short of murder (no pun intended) to make a political point or to stop what is most certainly legal And I disagree with many things that are legal--abortion, capital punishment, assisted suicide, etc. but I don't lie, cheat, and steal to further those beliefs.
This family should not have to revert to "Delay" tactics in the name of Christianity or more specifically Catholicism. Claiming that Terri said she wanted to live. Now, this is just plain crazy in my book. Could she have made a noise? Well, it's possible and it makes me ill thinking about that possibility but if they are going to claim the Christian mantle in this cause do they need to lie or at the least exaggerate her condition?
Somehow, I don't think God appreciates that even under these circumstances.
This has gotten out of control. I think the end is near and they are obviously desperate...but don't tell us that Terri said she wanted to live. Give me a break people.
[editor's note, by mapKY] I should note that my nothing "short of murder" reference didn't account for my "pro-life" counterparts on the right who cheer when abortion clinics are bombed and abortion providers are murdered.
