There are multiple candidates for the IL primary this election cycle. The Democrats have stopped calling me, because I don't give over the phone. I don't know this candidate, so I was curious. Why am I being called?
I used my trusty friend Google. There are already 3 candidates for the Democratic primary. Tomorrow there will be 4 candidates in the Democratic primary in IL-14. The article is in error about one candidate; Linda Chapa Lavia has announced (LOUD) that she will run.
The Republican party in IL is a mess. They ran Alan Keyes against Barack Obama. Ex-Governor George Ryan was convicted of corruption.
In no particular order:
- Linda Chapa Lavia has a seat in the IL House.
- John Laesch who ran against Hastert in 2006 was a military intelligence officer and is being supported at Blue America.
- Bill Foster worked for Patrick Murphy of PA in the last election. From the article, he's a physicist and a self-made businessman.
- Jotham Stein is an attorney from California and moved back to IL in 2005. Other than his webpage, he works in labor law and is looking for interns at Northwestern in Evanston.
It's pretty exciting to have so many people interested in running for this seat.
Good blogs about all things IL Democratic Party are Archpundit and Bridget in the Sixth (loud). It's not my blog so I'm being a pimp and not a whore. If you're interested, check out the blog roll.
