I wanted to ask if anyone knows about the "no tax return" system that is in England, Japan and Germany right now. According to Carville in his latest book "Had Enough?"...he states...
"Germany, Japan, and England have "no return" systems for at least some of their taxpayers....Right now, about 40 percent of American taxpayers file either a 1040EZ or 1040A. That means for about 40 percent of taxpayers, the IRS already knows all they need to know about your income. There's no reason that the IRS can't simply file for you and then send you a statement that says, "According to our records, this is how much money you made. Therefore, you owe us (or we owe you) this amount of money."
Does this mean that corportations would pay their fair share? Can you still have home mortgage deductions or any type of deductions if the IRS files their taxes for you?
And most importantly, does anyone have a link that also talks about this issue?
NATIONAL SALES TAX QUESTIONS?
Can anyone refute these national sales tax talking points...
"They also suggest that eliminating corporate taxes will cut the base costs for most goods and services. In other words, consumers won't be paying $130 for a $100 DVD player. Instead, the price of the DVD player could be cut to, say, $80. The 30 percent tax on that would take the final price to just $104 -- a negligible price increase, which could be followed later by price declines."
APT QUESTIONS?
Does anybody know much about it? And is it a good tax?
